A mystery rattle = solved! Saw on another thread about bolts for the wing coming loose, sure enough that was what i had going on, one came completely out of place!. In taking off the panel going across, one of it's clips came off and fell inside, had to find it and fish it out with my Harbor Freight scope.

@MorningZ,

You won't believe it , but I too this morning heard a rattle when closing hatch door.

Seems there is something loose in the plastic back cover, then I lifted the hatch again and no more sound... Weird

Thnx for this post. Will investigate further if the loose nut sound returns.

ROFL,

MorningZ,

Your a legend.
I found it and probably the noise that was rattling about a year ago and was very frustrating identifying where it was coming from.

I recommend every owner check their spoiler bolts.
Where it was hiding.

Hey Morningz, (In regards to the steeda jacking rails)

It looks from the picture that you basically need to cut a straight line aligned with the outermost edge of the first indent on the panel correct? Also from the picture it looks like you didn't need to cut the top portion at all, any reason why you ended up cutting this?

Thanks, just trying to educate myself while I wait for mine to ship.

Yeah, don’t need to cut top part as the rails don’t reach that far forward

Just returned for a trip out west for work, my RS sat in a covered parking lot while I was gone, keys were with me (so no one drove it)

Fired up the car after 7+ days of sitting there and right away something was wrong, a whistle coming from intake area, a sound kind of like an aftermarket CAI on a Honda, except my intake on the RS is currently bone stock.

Accelerating up to about 2800 RPM, the air noise dramatically increases and the car has no top end power after that point either. I checked to make sure the airbox was secure, the plastic hoses feeing it air are properly in place, I have no idea what to make of this :-/

Check your charge pipes, it sounds like maybe a charge pipe popped off. Symptoms are air rushing sounds and loss of boost.

Back to fun stuff!

Upon my return home I had some RS stuff waiting for me, super happy with it all !

RS Blueprint from Black Arts Graphics, this thing is serious business! (group by still going on! as I post this)

a Ford Performance banner for my revamped garage

the Global Windows feature and other things in this thread got me curious, so I picked up what I need to mess with that

So removed the driver headlight and was able to get my hand down in there to loosen the clamp and get the IC hose back on place, easy enough

What I couldn’t do was tighten the clamp from there so I proceeded to inadvertently spent 2x the amount of time getting that done without taking the front nose off than if I had just taken the nose off, what a pain in the ass, but fixed!

Another great C&C Steve! Thanks for making the trip and it was good seeing you again, 5 x RS's was a nice turnout this month.

It was also great meeting Clint and seeing his build, It gave me a few more ideas for mine! (those taillights and rear camber especially, drool)

See you guys next month.
