Hi I really like the setup with those lights - it looks great !!
Can you tell me what make the lights are and where to buy please.
I'm from The Netherlands and have the exact same car, . . and i would like to have the same look.
Thanks in advance!

Sorry to necro an old thread but I was wondering if @gmoneyjive or anyone else can tell me about the fitment of a 30in Black Oak curved double row lightbar. I recently struck a deer and am now heavily considering adding a lightbar so this doesn't happen again. Measuring the upper gap on the bumper is JUST 30in long and it becomes very tight on the ends. It was the recommendation on your spreadsheet but I'm not sure how it'll fit. Also are you mounting it in front of or behind the grille? I'm sure I can whip up some kind of bracket to mount it but if the 30in is going to stick far out of the bumper I'd rather go with the 20in for a more "flush" look.

I'm not good with blocking the cooling inlets - it gets hot around here, car gets hot too.

Check this for the discrete approach, assuming your HID.?

And in a couple of weeks I should have the not so discrete 'Classic RS' version running and tested. Hopefull no lamp steady reqd.

Mounting is almost complete. CAN Bus High Beam signal interceptor (CANM8 brand - no affiliation) in hand. Wiring very soon. Quite keen to see how clean the light is with these lamps with the lens & single LED globe???

First fitment (pre kangaroo strike damage repair)

yeah, sometimes...Adulting pretty hard ATM.

4x 55w lights up front. Definitely would get it’s ass kicked by any modern light bar, but I like it just for the style Generated from my Apple iPhone using tools.sportscard.trade Generated from my Apple iPhone using tools.sportscard.trade Generated from my Apple iPhone using tools.sportscard.trade Generated from my Apple iPhone using tools.sportscard.trade Generated from my Apple iPhone using tools.sportscard.trade
Better late than never to reply lol hopefully you're still using this thread... but I just bought a focus rs last year and have been searching for this mount for the lights... could you possibly point me in the right direction??

Thought I might update on lights and my approach. My main aim was to be as discrete as possible but have the best I can get in. The lights are Lazar RRR main light and another Lazar, forgotten which, for the spread. These are mega expensive lights but they are worth it. Most interesting thing is their colour temperature. They are more towards the yellow not blue end of the spectrum. This makes them much more natural and less glary. Blue lights tend to wash out everything to grey which is hard to distinguish. The benefit of lower colour temperature is everything appears its natural colours making it easier to interpret. The net effect is the lights don't seem quite as bright to drive behind but then you realise you can see more. The RRR lights are the same as used on the WRC cars - but I don't have so many.

When I had the front off I made brackets so I could remove the grill to service and aim the RRR main light. The RRR is mounted to the crash bar. Easily fits to the front, the grill brackets have Rivnuts, so easy to remove and aim as required. Lower light mounted to the front plastic shell bumper thingy, whatever that is called nowdays.

I guess I’ll update in this thread.

  • Diode dynamics stage rally light mount setup
  • 4x slim 12” light bars
  • quick release wiring under hood through vents

editors notes: nicely made product by diode dynamics. I see why most the regional/national rally teams run it. Very flexible setup for all kinds of configurations. I ordered 14” single row light bars but the manufacturer does not follow industry standard guidelines for measuring and actually sent me 12” instead 😡. The hood of the RS narrows significantly towards the nose, so you couldn’t really go much wider anyways. Unlike an STi where the hood is very wide even at the front and could easily run 18” or even 20” light bars.
