I torqued mine to spec and as I was torquing it was tapping near by on pipes with rubber mallet to help with seating. That way it didn't get to torque and I stop that later they shift and its too loose.

So my friend and I learned the hard way on the down pipe install from a few weeks back that this V-clamp better be replaced during install!

The metal/crush/bend gasket stays behind on old down pipe and is totally not reusable. He picked up a new OEM one for $15 at a local dealer and it took us 30 mins to get it on there with most of that time being exhaust cool down period.

I know i know, that's a "no duh" from anyone who has ever installed a down pipe before. I know I reused my v-clamp when we put my exhaust on since that side of the clamp doesn't get left behind and it's been perfectly fine

Well fück my nütsack. I had no idea. I have a catless DP on oem exhaust. Is this why that joint had always made a bit of a leaking noise????? I assume that my aggressive pops and bangs or hitting things just shakes it up, and once and a while I’ll loosen it, reset and tighten it. ****s sake. Part number?

Damn.... I have time tomorrow at a shop to install exhaust and I have forgotten to buy new OEM clamp... im fitting a Scorpion exhuast, cat back. Stock Downpipe and cat.
Should I order and resheduel the time at the shop or should I take a chance here that we can reuse the stock clamp?

Just reuse it, change it later if need be. I've taken mine off and on a couple times and have no leaks.

Did not know this, this might solve my intermittent rattle

Anybody got a part number for it, checked Rock Auto and Tasca with no luck on their site

I " think " I have a parts list for the whole car, just have to find it, will look when I get to work in the morning ( edit - nope i dont, was hoping the Service Manual had part numbers,, it doesnt )

Could be a tired/dumb question. Is the clamp measured by the pipe diameter or the diameter of the flared end that the clamp actually fastens to? don't want to go buying the wrong size clamp

You need the Ford clamp. Standard v-band clamps are different and won't work.
