Mine are stock and its a MY16. I have thought of biting the bullet and getting the DoidDynamic ones but don't really need them

 

I think at $60 per bulb the DD bulbs are just too much $$. I'm sure someone is running under $40 per pair LEDS with a good experience.

Are they noticeably brighter than stock? And they fit inside the housing? The LED's I tried were too large for the housing. So they are normally $75-ish

 

Too often you do get what you pay for. I coughed up the $120 to CJ Pony Parts for LED fog bulbs. The color looks great, and they fit.

 

I believe it, I just can't justify the cost for how I use the car. (Not a lot of night driving).

 

I got some off Amazon for like 18$ bright and been going strong for 8 months by Alla lighting part number h11-eti-561B mine are ice blue in color

I opted with the Sylvania as they are the right fit and its plug and play.

I do not have the need for the dual color one.

Let me know what 6K's your ordered and how they look/fit. I'm interested in the yellow but I'm not sure how the local police will feel about them.

They're at $69.99 but the website keeps trying to get me to select my location and stores within 10-miles...there are none even choosing a larger city. I'll keep shopping for other bulbs and keep my eye on these to see if the price drops in the mean time.

 

I got the Sylvanias based on this thread and there is no way that they fit. The housing opening is too small for the led housing to fit in. My car is a 2018, how the hell did other people get these to fit?

 

I have not installed mine, but when I saw this message I went to the garage and start taking out the driver side fog light housing.

The fittings itself is apples to a apples:

The issue is the LED heat sync is not completely round:

I'll be shaving one side just a bit to go through, either that or dremel a small notch on the fog light housing.

Some other pressing stuff came up as I have not installed it on mine.

That was the issue I encountered with the set of Sirius LEDs I found on Amazon and they looked smaller than the Sylvanias do. The opening into the fog light housing is pretty small on my 2016...just slightly larger than the original bulb.

 

Can confirm, no install issues with the ones linked by @Barksie above.

I was able to cancel my diode dynamics order and got the ones he linked from Amazon, which shipped overnight. Looks nice and bright and for nearly 1/4 the price. We'll see how they do long term.

 

I have installed these "Car-Rover" DUAL Color [6K/3K] LED bulb 2-pack since early 2017 and no issues at all.
But I got 'em thru amazon prime [US Warehouse] for $50 for the set and now appears to be discontinued... wonder which brand would be comparable & last like the Car-Rover ones I have installed...

These LEDs were defaulted to 6K color [white] and I have to push the foglight button off & back on to get it to "flip" to the 3K color [yellow].

Maybe there's a replacement, but I haven't found one yet. Let me know if you do.

 

My OE foglight bulb on the driver side burned out this morning.

I do have light bulb coverage on my RS. I'll get it swapped out for good ones (taking them out after that and shelf it).

I already ordered the one form Amazon (from @Barksie and @BigFatFlip confirmation) and saving the Sylvania LED probably for my nephews MazdaSpeed6 or the Mrs. C-Max or even my daughter's Aveo.

No fan. They look visually brighter but you can se that already in the post I quoted with pictures.

 

I also installed them on mine and the first time I drove the car was amazed how much brighter the road looked - definitely a great replacement for the OEM fog bulbs.

 

A month in and they are still going strong out here taking on the Chicago subzero weather right now. No dimming or loss of color (yet..)

 

That looks good. My new car is covered in ice around the wheel wells.

Is anyone else using the SEALIGHT fog light LEDs from Amazon? I bought a set in May 2019 and everything was fine, fit, color, brightness all were good. It took nearly 3 years before I realized that these LEDs were causing another issue that was so strange that I almost never made the connection. The short of it is they create interference with the FM radio. I had noticed for years that at seemingly random times, my FM radio reception would go to crap, especially any stations that were HD. Since at other times the reception was fine, I thought I had a loose antennae connection. Not sure why it took me so long to notice the seemingly random times it would not pick up any stations was at night. Once I realized that, it didn't take me long to isolate the fog lights as the problem. I found this thread as now I am looking for some replacement LEDs, the dual color ones have piqued my interest, may have to give those a try. I've been wondering lately if the yellow would actually aid in visibility when it actually is foggy like this morning.

 

I just installed it today since I thought the last time I saw it out it was imagination.

I used a driver than a rachet so I don't over torque the torx bolt.

Bought the Sylvania thinking they were a direct swap because I stopped reading at page 2, didn't make it to page 3 where it was identified as not a direct swap. Ha.

The Dremel make fairly fast work of the heat-sink material, so not a terrible experience in the end.
