Supposedly you can get them on the Mustang because it is a "production" car. You can also get the cooled/heated seats on the Mustang.
Here in SoCal, the cooled seats would be a lot better than heated. *sigh*

Be interesting to see if anyone swaps in Mustang heated/cooled seats. And how they would add the cooling controls.

I have heated Recaros in my ST... I used them once.... for maybe 10 minutes.. would really rather have cooled,or at least ventilated Recaros.

From what I've read it's due to the fact they don't have side airbags, and didn't pass the crash test. Euro doesn't require side units. Population control?

Loved the heat on a cold morning or after a long day, relieves the lower back pain. Had them in my first SVTF in 2003, once I got hooked had to have them in the two after that. Once I started to build the RS clone in '09, I used a '02 ZX3 shell, and the entire guts of my last '04 SVTF with EAP, but had sold the Recaro interior, so I bought some salvage seats just to get the heater grids and side airbags from to install the RS front seats. Now I'm researching kits to install them in the Recaros in my Sierra RS. Will not buy another car without them...

Anyone know how much the power driver seat weighs vs the non-powered? I can assume you only get one for the driver side that has power and for the front passenger manual heated seats then leather wrap? Is that right? (better lose some weight) Hah!:p

I found an interesting heated/cooled seat description here:

Climate Seats | Gentherm

Do commercially-available "Cooled Seats" just blow room-temperature (or A/C, Heater output) air inside the seat, or use electric "active" cooling elements (TEC or Peltier)?

I would've gone with heated seats if they were also cooled. As-is, I don't particularly care to just have them heated. Would rather have cooled actually!

I see a lot of people mention side airbags in stock seats. Does that mean that swapping to some cooled/heated seats later on would reduce the safety of my vehicle? Recaro makes some pretty badass sounding seats (like Ergomed) that I was hoping I could get down the road. I don't know what other good brands of car seats there are. In either case, the safety/side air bag thing is bothering me

I don't think anyone ever responded to the OP here. Does anyone have a pick of the US base RS seats vs the RS2 seats?

Love the Heated Seats, Hope they work as well as in Wifie's Escape, they heat up very quickly, a very nice option for us in Colder Climates!

Thanks Shoey!

I'm a little disappointed! I like the blue trim on the front and back seats of the RS1. RS2 seats look plain boring in comparison. Also, from the look of those back seats, it looks like RS2 will be harder to keep clean. You can see every speck of dust where on the RS1 rear seats I don't see any dust.

I don't see any dust  Are you sure you're not mistaking the natural lay of the "suede"?
