Totally normal! Your IPC will also freak out saying things like brake level low, service engine soon, etc while all the modules are loading. A little nerve-wracking the first time.

After you write to a module, your computer will also throw a bunch of codes (loss of comms with written module) but I haven't had a CEL. I clear the codes, which has the side benefit of killing stop-start because it resets the emissions status.

The first time you access these modules you'll have to download files...follow the on-screen instructions and in the google doc linked by @seniorgeek with regards how to get the files and where to put them.

ForSCAN also expects that you follow the on-screen prompts like recycling the ACC power so make sure to do that. I've also read that guys have used ForSCAN with the engine running (really bad idea), which has lead to the car thinking it's been in an accident.

Good luck, and enjoy the car with how it should have been delivered from the factory.
Phil....are you saying you disabled the START/STOP function via Forscan too?!?!?

No, but I found that if your ECU has pending emissions tests it won't do start/stop. There is an option in the GUI of forscan somewhere to disable it IIRC...

Loading SBL Failed

Well crap, went to access BdyCM Central configuration (Main), I clicked OK to load SBL and got a failure. I tried one more time and same result. Now my ABS light stays on. I did save the original before I accessed BdyCM but don't know how to apply it since I cannot access it without the SBL.:confused3:

What adapter are you using? If you haven't tweaked anything, then you should be fine. Just may need to clear your codes using FORScan.

My ABS light was on after doing my global windows, simply driving it up and down my street made it go away

Ah, thanks. I initially never left the garage. I just went for a spin and the ABS light extinguished before I got out of the driveway. All seemed normal while driving. I'm still losing at accessing BdyCM though.

I am using an adapter similar to this one.

I just realized that I didn't actually back anything up from BdyCM Central configuration(Main) since I never gained access - I was only saving the log.:embarrased:

The main reason I am trying to access BdyCM is simply for Bambi Mode hi-beams and I want to increase the turn signal count on the tap feature. Does anyone have codes for these?

I'm from Scotland and I've managed to enable auto locking when going over 5mph. I've also found once you edit any files using forscan you should clear all the fault codes stored in the modules using forscan global windows is already enabled from the factory here in

So I emailed FORScan support and they quickly responded to my SBL issue. If anyone is interested my SBL load issue was resolved by following the steps in this link.

It basically walks you through USB performance optimization. Please note this only applies to USB adapters, not Bluetooth.

After all that I found Foglight Function in BdyCM but was unable to change the value because I wasn't in "Engineering Mode"? And I'm still searching for turn signal tap count...

A couple of interesting things. 1. A friend used an cheap bluetooth adapter and could only get the HSCAN as expected. He replaced it with a OBDlink MX and still could not get the MS-CAN support. FORScan saves your car profile and it loads it every time you start so you keep getting the old info even if you have updated to a better/newer adapter.

Solution: Uninstall FOrScan and remove the data files in the users/(username)/Documents/FORscan directory plus use Regedit (if windows) to remove the data files. Search for FORScan in regedit to find all the files.
After reinstalling and trying a better adapter with the "can switch" it worked fine.

2. While examining the IPC module, after loading the secondary module, you will find 3 files 1. "AsBuilt", 2. IPC main, 3. Backup IPC.
I saved each version and did a file comparison to see the differences. The backup is a very generic file with only the code necessary for a functional car. I believe this file is the same for all Focus. I would have to compare the same file from at ST and a basic focus to verify.

I am about half way through the IPC verifying what works and doesn't. this will be the next module posted.
