So my dealership informed me today that they aren't able to order the parts to replace my head gasket because Ford wants to do more research. No further details were given by
@Ford . I called Ford customer service and they said that no further guidance had been given past 17B32. I don't know much more than that now but I will try and get more info. Has anyone else run into this super lame problem or am I the only one? :jawdrop:

My dealer seems to be a bit more up to speed. Be aware that most dealers are not set for doing major engine tear-downs on a daily basis. My dealer has called me a couple of times to discuss the process and has admitted he wants to see how his techs do on the first couple RSs.
For one thing there's the parts issue. First the engine has to have the "cooling system pressure tested and replace the head gasket." My RS is coming up on 2 years, July 2016 delivery, and 8000 miles with no loss of coolent. Is Ford going to authorize a headgasket replacement? "Based on test results, some vehicles may require a cylinder head assembly."
Plus, "additional time may be required to allow the engine to cool prior to performing this repair. In addition, your vehicle will require an inspection to determine if parts need to be ordered."
So, "how long will it take?" By the time your schedule your appointment, maybe a couple of weeks, get your car in, do all the tests, order the needed parts, it could be a 2-3 week process. But, if you haven't "tuned" or "modded" your RS, Ford is going to take care of you.
Let's see how it goes.
