To Mud Flap or not to Mud Flap...

So will will the RS need mud flaps or not with the way the side skirt is? Can tell how big an issue this will be. Don't want ever rock punching a new hole in my side panel's paint job. Or is putting a mud flap on this car like putting fish-hose stockings on your Grandma and taking her to Arby's? I.e just don't ever, ever, ever do it!

I'm interested in the lower profile look of these mud flaps, but saw some of the negative reviews on Amazon. Can you speak toward the quality of these things and whether or not those negative reviews hold any merit?

That's a great movie...there is no way that could get released today. Too many snowflakes would get their feelings hurt. Although if you did a reverse race version, it would get an academy award....

Anyway, the drilling part is a piece of cake.
Im going to have to disagree. If the wheel is off its all childs play, but the wheel being on only gave me about an inch. By the time I got my phillips bit in there, there really wasnt a good way to drive it (strait). I got lucky on the first one, but I didnt realize that until the second one beat my ass. I did learn that before your start turning the screw, push it as hard as you can.. try to push it through the bulkhead, or at least create a divot.. bc even though its extremely difficult (IMO) to "start", as soon as it does the hard parts over.

Now that being said, if you dont mind it being crooked, you can grab the bumper and pull it out just enough to use a drill. It wont be perfectly strait, but the job will be much easier.

I went with Rokblokz - they are super stiff and easy to install. I was a little concerned with the mounting hardware (longer machine screws, plastic clips and rubber reinforced hose [as spacers/compression to adjust flaps]) but they've been on for 6 months, including a crappy winter, and I can't be happier. Makes the car look more aggressive and really protects the car! Can't recommend them enough!

My thoughts also. Don't know why but I don't mind the look but if I put them on I'd have to start blasting down gravel roads just because I I won't do that with my new car. I even avoid them with my truck and that can be a chore where I live

First mod I did was install ZL1 rock guards on the Beauty. Easy peasy, only had to let one screw on each rear guard punch into that fabric wheel opening liner. I drove on fresh oil & chip seal on country roads this weekend and only suffered a few tar streaks that wiped off. ZL1 guards look minimalist and appear to protect well. Cup 2 tires definitely toss debris against the wheel well. Recommended.

I was sort of against putting flaps on the car, but after reading more about them and seeing the multiple input and pictures here, I decided to order a set of Rokblokz, black on black... I'll post pictures after the install.

I just got my Rokblokz in the mail and I'm surprised how stiff they are. I share other people's concerns about bumper damage if these come down hard on a steep speedbump or curb.

What is the advantage of rigid flaps over flappy flaps? Are the Rally Armor flaps (or any others available) more flexible?

I just installed rally armor. Forgot about the rockblockz. The rally armor flaps are a flexible urethane but still feel pretty stout. Definitely would t damage anything before they themselves fold. I just got tired of cleaning **** off my rear bumper and rocket panel constantly. Haven't had to since installed.

Edit: word of caution, though it's probably been stated in this thread before: I got the nitrous blue lettering thinking it would match the calipers. It's lighter than the calipers though. Unless you're paint is NB and you want to match that. If you want to match the badges and calipers, go with the darker blue.

I got the RBs on mine. There was No Way I could get them on the rears without removing the wheels but once I got them off it was cake.
