RS big turbo build start

So I got my RS very early. Took weeks to even see another and the local deal got one a month later. I got it tuned by livernoise right away as they did a full build to my work truck 2015 f150 and I just rolled 100,000 miles so I am more than impressed with the work as I've had zero trouble and I tow a lot and have to fill my meth weekly. So I have great confidence. now to the RS. I have been waiting to do it for the right exhaust and intake. I can no longer wait so I'm puling the trigger on a Big turbo, downpipe, t stat, and direct port meth. livernoise has a hpfp that will let me run E85 but that is $1800 and seems redundant. I would do e85 but I have no stations near me and I would run meth most the time anyway to keep the valves clean and lower AIT. So my thought is to run larger nozzles in each port and one about 6" before the intake split. With that setup I should have plenty of fuel to feed the bigger turbo. I may upgrade later with intake but have taken to the sleeper engine bay. I will also have to upgrade the motor mounts and pro brace but other than that am I missing anything?

the only problem about the bigger turbo's is they are over kill unless you are building the motor! the stock turbo can carry you right to about 400hp. Problem is most tuners seem to be limiting that power to 380ish so you are not to blow up on stock internals. But if you are building the engine up...bigger turbo is the way to go.

But if you are going bigger turbo... building the engine up is the (necessary) way to go.

Sorry if this double post something is up with my phone. Anyway you guys are on the same page with me. I'm thinking of just meth but have already ordered turbo and meth kit. Size I could not tell you as livernoise is taking care of that. It goes in on the 12th and I'm now thinking a 93 plus meth tune for daily driving. Same as meth only boost wise. Then have a race tune for the track with much more boost. I'm ok loosing a motor at the track I guess. Better than on the side of the road with my son in the car. 3 yrs old.
So now I'm thinking to just run it with stock internals and if something goes wrong then I can be into a full built lower end. Is this line of thinking dumb? I just don't want to put big money into beefing up stock bottom end when for a few more grand I could have a full built one with huge boost numbers. The turbo I think was good for 550 hp or 600. I'll get more details this week. Thanks for your thoughts and insight.
I see livernoise already posted my drag race against my friends Shelby here so no need. We both did better than that race time wise but I was super pissed I didn't do the e30 tune as I was so close. At least my f150 beat his Shelby.

...I'm confused, are you saying why not just spend an extra couple of grand to have a second motor? there is no difference between building your stock motor vs buying a fully built motor, except that one will give you a little bit of downtime while it gets built

So finally got around to looking up the turbo. It's a turbonetics they sell for the 2.3l.
So as it stands I've been changing my mind a lot on this build. So here is where I'm at.
Big turbo, meth, air filter and elbow, motor mounts, pto brace, Grimm speed batt, montune quick shift, eibach springs.
So far this is what I have. I'm going for the sleeper look so I don't want any more sound and I can hide the injection fairly well. Livernoise is gonna try to do a tune with stock boost levels with meth for my everyday driving and when someone else wants to drive it. Then I'm gonna have a race tune to use the new turbo. That way it's as reliable as it was with the tune and then when I wanna really go fast I can choose when to risk engine failure. I was gonna abort the big turbo but in know I'm doing the livernoise shirt block this winter when snow flies. So to save time this is the way I'm going till winter. Then I can have a whole other set of ideas to work with.

Ask Livernois to document the turbo and meth install, and progress. I would like to see it!

You can usually follow them on Facebook and they keep good updates. However I asked them specifically to not post anything till after track day in august as I'm hiding it all from my friend with a 16 Shelby. He only beat me by a tenth of a second and then had them tune for e85. He knows how sneaky I am so he is stalking the Facebook page looking for updates. I will though keep you updated here as progress rolls along. Still a few weeks out on the turbo and I'm to busy at work to play with it anyway.
I assume turbonetics will use the same turbo for the kit. They are over 6 weeks out on turbos as we speak. So hopefully they have all the other stuff set and ready to go by the time the turbo is received.

Yes I'd like to see where the stock one takes me. Hopefully till winter. o plan on buying a livernoise complete motor this winter. So I doesn't hurt to see what I can squeeze out of the stock one.
I may end up doing a fmic this winter. I kinda leave that stuff up to livernoise as when I built my truck they talked me out of spending a whole lot money I wanted to spend. One thing was the intercooler. If hey test and say yep I'll gladly buy one but they told me with my truck lots of companies are offering them because they make good money from them. This car seems to need it though. So we will see where we are. I will have lower temps in general because of the straight meth. So after dealing with them on my truck I always refer to them when I come up with something I think would help.

Well seems I'm not getting my big turbo yet as it's still not available. I did talk to them and it has a date that is not to far off so I went just meth for now. The turbo is a bolt on so I can have it done in a week and retuned. Glad I waited as the rs turbo will offer much more than the 2.3 stang they currently offer. As for the meth this is how it's run. Still fits under cover and I'm using washer tank for res so it's super stealth.

I believe you are correct. They are doing a race only tune and a every day tune that will be right around 400. I think I have he same idea as you. Although I know the risk of it going boom and if I'm on a track I'm ok with that. I just don't want to be stranded on the side of the road or crash either. At least a track has an ambulance.
