AWE Switchpath would be my choice with those requirements, but it's expensive, as most valved exhausts seem to be. I'll be going the other direction and just being loud mode always, AWE Track Edition when i get around to it

 

Agreed. I have the AWE track but I heard a switchpath recently and if I was cared to be valved I would have bought this hands down.

 

I have only heard the ST CP-E in person, and they make one of loudest exhausts I have ever heard

I have the Mountune Valveless and it is barely audible unless I get on it, the valve should be quieter

Mountune v2

 

My requirements are the same and there are only 2 in consideration. The Mountune V2 or the Cobb and I’m buying the Cobb. I want to be able to switch to normal mode and put through the neighborhood. Like you I want to remove the FENG but have to have an exhaust after it is gone for tactile feedback when getting on it. I wanted to wait and rack up a few k Miles first, after the FSA but I am getting weak listening to these Cobb exhaust videos. I’m happy I waited and didn’t buy the Mountune.

 

I have to look around but someone else said that the Cobb is crazy loud when the valve opens. It IS a straight pipe exit on the valved side after all. It seems like Mountune V2 is quite popular though so I'll probably go that route.

 

I'd highly recommend the switchpath, you can get it on CJPonyParts for 5% off with their usual coupon you just have to find it.

 

AWE Track because drone is good for your colon.

 

I have the Mountune V2 and am very happy with it, I also bought the mountune hangers to ensure there would be no rattle and perfect fitment. its not overbearing but when you get on the gas you can definitely hear it. The pops sound amazing with this system as well

 

Really happy with the valved scorpion exhaust. The only other I've heard is the Mountune v2x and not side by side.

 

For your requirements why not just do the exhaust bypass and save some money. That’s what I’m doing as soon as I get it back from livernois.

I'd love to get the AWE SwitchPath but it's rather expensive compared to the Magnaflow and Mountune options. Consensus seems to be that Mountune ticks all the boxes.

 

I would also look at Ford Performance, seems to meet the requirements you are looking for. It is essentially a valved Borla unit rebranded.

 

I have the Full Race exhaust - it's valved and sounds really good. No rasp, just a deep tone. Not too loud during normal driving, and aggressive at WOT. I even paired mine with the Switchpath remote to control the valve myself. Highly recommended.

 

Milltek Non-resonated. Thank me later. No drone, well-behaved with valve closed, sounds amazing with valve open without being too much. Seriously, you get what you pay for...keep an eye out for periodic vendor sales.

 

Any idea what the weight is?

 

This question could get me flamed, but does installing a catback exhaust require a re-tune if I am tuned by tune+?

 

I have the Mountune V2 and I would pay for it again. How ever I have the valve less, and I dont regret it. The valve one sould be very close sounding. The only reason I didn't want the switchable ones is because heat and road debris I feel would damage the unit over time. Best bet though is get out and ride in other cars and know what parts they have as a tune and intake upgrades change the sounds you will here.

 

Have you checked into Injen. I am currently running that exhaust and happy with the sounds. Everything you are looking for based on your list. Got another RS friend to buy the exhaust and he is very happy with it too. I purchased through CJ Pony and also bought the Injen intake

 

Er. The Injen is not valved and it's not muffled, so I appreciate the suggestion but don't remotely see how it could make sense for me.

 

I have the AWE Track Edition currently installed. I have the AWE Touring Edition rear portion sitting in my garage waiting to go it. The Track Ed. sounds amazing and WOT and the pops are gunshots now. I love all of that. Decel, it's intolerable... sucks because I like everything about it BUT that.

If I was gonna do it all over again, I'd probably go with the Mountune V2

 

Exactly my issue I am having. I get headaches. I am going to throw a Vibrant resonator on the mid pipe and see if it calms it down a little.

Was really hoping GReddy was going to do an exhaust for it. Their build quality and sound is night and day difference.

 

Is the Ford Performance exhaust (the one made by Borla) the only aftermarket exahaust that integrates the valve functionality with the drive mode selector?

 

No, there are a few actually. The Magnaflow, Milltek, Thermal R&D, Full Race, Scorpion, Mountune V2, Cobb, and AWE all have valved exhausts. The control for the valve doesn't change (at least without a tune or separate control box), so the valve works like it would with the OEM exhaust.

 

Ego-x is what I will eventually go to.
