Got a new OBDLink EX while trying to troubleshoot some rough idle. Saw some test. Ran a few. Got this from Mode 6.

Sadly no info on the error though. What gives? Anyone else try it?

I think you should be using an OBDLink MX+ on our cars. Do you get any detailed results? Below is the result I get.

Incidentally, in Australia we don't have regular "smog" tests, so these results don't matter. On the other hand I suspect the tune has messed with something so the catalyst monitoring never completes. I plan to remove the tune soon.

Interesting - yours concludes with OK in 3 seconds after EGR, mine concludes with a detail-free warning! I am not getting the detailed results you have there. Where'd you get that from? Is there a specific way to open these up?

Far as MX+, I think the EX should work fine too. The EX uses USB, but has support for MS-CAN and is recommended by OBDLink for FORScan. I do have an MX+... somewhere. I can't find the ducking thing. If I ever find it again I am slapping a tracker on it something, or a giant lanyard.

Re the EX, you are correct since you mention USB; I'm using Forscan Lite on iOS, so I was incorrectly assuming you were also.

The test results I posted appear when the test completes, and I then save the result which creates a file named Tests_2022-05-30_19/30/16.txt or similar. That file includes everything I posted, plus any previous test results from the same session. That's it.

In your case it looks like Forscan cannot write out the test results to the file for some reason; permissions? space? Do any detailed results appear on screen or in a results tab? (I haven't use Forscan for PC). Maybe reinstall Forscan?

I'm using EX via USB (and OTG adapter) to an Android phone. I'll check permissions when I get my car back. It's currently in for some routine stuff (oil, filters, whatever) since I still have my ext warranty/mnt plan.
