Not that great. RACV quoted on a more expensive golf R 1500. Have to call during regular business hours to get the underwriter on the line and an actual quote

 

They just gave me a quote, as I already have the 86 with them, for a non daily driver (1km commute to work is better suited the 1896 corolla) $957 per annum,
EDIT- so I can get insurance on 4 vehicles and still have change for a Quaife LSD for you to insure the RS, is good to be old (I'm 38)
Make sure they know about the anti theft on it might make a decent difference.

After six months I think I've reread them like 50 times. not saying I'm sweating on it to arrive but that wouldn't be far from the truth.

 

My quote from budget direct is $718. And that is with 0% no claim bonus! (Just wrote car off last week). Prob helps being over 50 and living out of major city...

Any further details? Shannons also quoted me 2k (1800 for limited use), no accident history, no tickets, over 30, top driver rating too, go figure.

 

Mine was for over 2 grand with Shannon's. Seems expensive.

They can also do a limited usage policy (average 2 days per week usage) as I mainly drive on weekends. I'd feel uneasy if I took it out more often one week and had something happen though.

 

The fact that Shannons dont allow you to do an online quote, and make you ring up concerns me.

They've been bending me over for years with my other high performance car.

 

Give Famous a call, they seem to be pricing according to their acquisition strategy for market share. I was quoted a ridiculous price from Shannons for the RS + my other cars. Famous halved the total price with a similar cover offer. No brainer.

 

Had to do a claim years ago with Shannons(guy hit my car) all I can say it was F&CKING painful, I think it was a long time ago since they have been enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Unfortunately no one else will insure my bikes, gotta bend over and take it long d!ck style!

 

$800 from QBE with standard excess - pretty happy with that now if only there was a car to insure!

These 2 are key for me but given the low build numbers I'd imagine (heaven forbid) if the car was written off within that time, you'd get paid out agreed/market value...

 

RAC don't even have the RS on their system yet! *face palm* :numbness:
