Hey All, just joined because I saw that the AWD fault is a common issue with many. My RS has about 5k miles and started showing the AWD fault error where I was unable to select drive modes and I took it to the dealer, but they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the issue especially since restarting the car erases it. I told them if I get the issue again I will stop by while it's happening so they could do a live scan with their Ford software. So when it happened, I drove it in and had them do a live scan with the car on and issue present and the mechanic contacted Ford regarding it and apparently my differential was leaking so they ordered a completely new one to replace it with per Ford's fix for the issue.

I just wanted to update others with this fix for mine as I have seen other people say it happens when it's too cold(it's 80's F here) or people mention it has something to do with flaps as well. I am taking it in next week for them to replace the differential and will update if the issue disappears for good.

I have had this occur twice in the last week with my 2017. The first time was down in Tennessee after a couple of runs down the Dragon and the second time was on my way home from work today. Both times were around 80 degrees outside. Haven't taken it to Ford yet but definitely interested to hear others experiences with this. I put 2100 miles on the car in a weeks time and it's now at 5100 miles.

Thanks!
