Edit: Also interested in 255/40R18. If you've got pictures of any those sizes, post 'em up :)

As the title says, who's running these larger (than stock) sidewall tires? I'm just about ready to switch from forged 19" wheels w/MPSS to 18", but I prefer a larger sidewall as I've never been a fan of the look or feel of really low profile tires.

In order of sidewall height and total diameter:

Stock 19" sidewall and diameter: 82.3mm, 25.5"
245/40R18: 98mm, +.2"
225/45R18: 101mm +.50"
235/45R18: 105mm, +.85"

It would seem that the 235/45R18 would raise the car a bit, which I wouldn't mind as long as there isn't any wheel well rubbing due to the extra .85" diameter. I'd assume the other two sizes would be fine since they're less aggressive in terms of stock fitment, but I'd love to hear from someone running these sizes.

I run the same as Raptor911, 245/40/R18 Continental Extreme Contact DW on 18x8.5 wheels. I would like to think a 255/40/18 would fit just as well.
I'd like to see some 18x8.5 with a 255/40 PSS!

If not, a 245/40 PSS is calling my name

Anyone have trouble/success with a 255 width tire on either 19 or 18 inch wheels? Perhaps 255/40R18 would be best for my purposes (8.5" wheel).

Good to hear that setup works. What wheel width and offset?

Happen to have any photos?
Yes, I would like to know as well.....Would it have to be a different offset than the stock 18' wheels of the Winter Wheel and Tire Package? I would like to use those wheels with the maximum sidewall (aspect ratio).

The OE winter wheels are only 7.5" wide. I would think you would want 8" at the minimum for a 245+ tire. Plus they don't seem very light....

My winters are 225/45/18. No issues and the extra sidewall is nice in the winter.

I am running 245/40R18 on TSW Chicane 18 x 8.5 +43 I have no issues thus far. The sidewall height gain is definitely noticeable. Idk if “idea” fitment is the right way to put it. It does not improve handling as some have said, in fact I can feel a ton of sidewall flex on stock psi. Maybe I’ll try and increase it to 48psi and see if it stiffens the sidewall a bit.

245's MPSS are stretched on a 9" rim. When I need tires, they will be at least a 255, possibly 265.
