Wheel Spacers

Hi All,

I wasn't sure where to put this as there is interest in wheel spacers for adapting big brake kits and for those interested in various wheels and achieving a flush look to the fenders.

I'm looking into it for former. And if you need something more that 8mm spacing and you want to keep the hub concentric mounting.

Did you see this? Ken Block promoting a wheel spacer kit from ST Suspensions. Very interesting system.

ST Suspensions:

I guess the cool thing about this is that it converts back to stock, no mods at all required (ie long wheel studs)

More typical system is offered by H&R Trak+. Also Eibach has a similar product.

What I like about this is it comes with the longer studs. But some times installing longer studs is a big pain and requires removal of the hubs.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a big brake kit and will need a spacer system >8mm so I will be getting one of these. I'll keep you posted.

You can't replace the studs on the RS without a massive amount of work. Go with the eibachs which incorporate a 2nd set of studs.

I run the ST spacers and chose them specifically because I do NOT want a second set of studs that are pressed into a minimal amount of aluminum to be holding my wheels on while doing any kind of driving. I know there are plenty of people who use bolt-in spacers for drift events and stuff, but I've also seen plenty of pics of these spacers shearing off and losing the wheel while on the track or even just on the street. Considering that the "ideal" size for the RS is between 10-20mm depending on preference, that only leaves less than an inch of material at best for the studs to screw into.

I like that the ST spacers allow for the use of the stock studs by incorporating the shanked lug nuts. This is far safer than a bolt-in spacer, while also being far easier than pulling the studs out of the hubs. Plus, it allows for easy swapping of wheels at the track/event without having super long extended studs, etc. ST also includes hubcentric rings, and I've had zero vibration issues or any kind of negative effects since I've installed (~1500 miles so far, and one autocross weekend).

secondary studs in a 15mm spacer is probably thicker than the stock studs in the hub, no?

Copied from another thread, I did these last week and below are the info and pics. Ordered from here: Focus RS + ST Mk3 DZX wheel spacer kit - Focus Mk3 1.6 EcoBoost - Suspension - Axle Spacer kits - Pumaspeed Milltek Ford Performance Tuning Milltek Sport Exhaust Ford Fiesta Focus ST RS Parts Specialist

Here is the thread: http://www.focusrs.org/forum/18-focus-rs-wheels-tires/66562-spacers-stock-forged-setup-2.html

Just installed the ST Suspensions 12.5mm kit on the stock wheels(non-forged) and the fit was perfect, just like the above video. PumaSpeed was great to deal with, the parts arrived 4 days after I ordered online and the total after shipping/VAT was $198 USD.

I'll get some pics up tonight/tomorrow morning as the rain started just as I was finishing up.

What size spacer would make the stock wheels more flush with the fender? I plan on going with a little wider tire when the time comes as well on the stock wheels. Just noticed that I would have to get new mud flaps if I go any wider at all.

12.5 or 15 on the forged wheels puts them just about flush. The pics I posted on page 1 are with 15mm spacers. However, that's also with lowering springs and ~1.6* camber, so there is a bit of tuck/angle going on there.

12.5mm at stock ride height should be just shy of flush, and 15mm would be just poking a tad.

Guys,

Based on all the comments I ordered ST wheel spacers today. My goal is for RacingBrake big brake kit wheel clearance.

Their web site is a little wonky so its best to call. http://www.stsuspensions.com/st_wheel_spacers

It wanted to charge me $51 for regular shipping so after talking to someone the shipping was $13.

Super helpful on the phone. They will be working on the website.

I went with the 10mm spacer, But with 10 mm spacer they do not provide hubcentric rings. Only the "flat" ring up to 10mm.

Hubcentric rings start at 12 mm spacers. And I wanted hucentric so.......

I bought the hubcentric ring (pn 65260032) for the 12 mm and cut it down. Now it works with 10mm spacers.

C'mon, what's 2mm between friends? :) What made you decide on 10? Visually do you think you could notice if they were 12 or 10? I admire the handiwork, just trying to understand your thinking.
