So we did a thing... With the coronavirus we’ve been concerned about traveling in hotels. So we decided camping was going to be our way to explore the east coast.

Hilarious! Not sure if you are trolling with some epic Photoshop skills but either way this is awesome!

As usual, testing my limits around Angeles Crest Hwy! Finally saw another RS today; but headed the opposite direction so we never got to chat or drive together.

Anyone else really get bothered when people don’t share the road? Signs literally say “slower traffic use turnouts” aaaaaaaand yet. Okay rant over time to spray off all the dead animal parts.

Yeah and it's not isolated to the US. Very frustrating.

Probably not the best place to "test your limits", I'd save it for the track/autox course, although that is easier said than done these days. Sorry, but I've seen far too many folks "lose it" on these canyon roads. Best case, you're stranded for a couple of hours while waiting for help. Worst case? well... Just keep it safe and sane and well within your control/comfort zone (y)

In regards to road "sharing" I find that it's the non-locals/tourists that tend to not adhere to this, so it's more prevalent on weekends and holidays in the middle of the day. With the stay at home orders, I found it not so much of an issue, but then again, I'm technically supposed to be home lol 😅

Not my best choice of words...I definitely don’t condone actually testing ones driving limits on a canyon, nor do I drive that way(not since I was a younger fool). My dad used to tell me horror stories of Angeles Crest rides, then ultimately experiencing it for myself. In summation, always be mindful, always be safe! It was a fun drive though and I can’t wait to actually get myself onto a track to truly test some limits :)

To the turnout refusers, oddly enough I tend to run into my road hogs in the form of older, solo drivers; although I agree it is worst on holidays and weekends with tourists and such.

Cheers!

Agreed! I had actually seen your post a while ago with an RTT mounted and that’s what encouraged me to consider it in the first place!

It just felt like the perfect storm of reasons to finally buy one. REI was having its anniversary sale and we’ve been trying to find better ways to get outdoors, so we just went for it. If it works out I may get a rack to mount it to my Jeep, but this is the rack I already have and it’s a lot more entertaining to drive the RS than my Jeep.

Just be careful that your dog doesn't jump.
