This coming Wednesday Carvana will be delivering my 2018 Focus RS. I had to sell my 2016 Mustang GT because the wife and I will be having our first child by late December. We needed a 4 door and the RS just seemed to check every box. Instead of writing a page on the mods I had on the stang, I just want to keep it short and to the point. The car was heavily modded, supercharged and tuned by a very reputable tuner. My question is, Will going the same route with this car give me any headaches in the future? With my mustang the biggest PITA was the whole monitors being "not ready." What aftermarkets parts will definitely cause this? What parts wont give me a problem at all? ........I ABSOLUTELY hate going through "drive cycles."
Long time lurker, always wanted mustang GT when I retired. When these cars came out 2016 I started to notice how much more practical these where over a mustang. Watched all the Youtube videos and read about all the pro and cons of these cars. This last month I finally started asking questions about purchasing a used one and got excellent advice from members on this forum for which I am truly grateful. This last Wednesday I drove 6 hours to Pennsylvania to pick up a NB 2017 CPO with only 2,700 miles. I'm 59 years old and never had kind of fast cars, hell my other car is a van. I also drove a UPS truck for 31 years that was manual and no power steering when I started. All I can say is holy crap this is one hell of a car and the wife likes driving it too. A lot of members complained that the seating position was bad and the ride was harsh. I have no complaints whatsoever. Love reading the forums and hope to contribute one day.
Greets from Owen in northern Alberta. I’m a couple days into owning the new-to-me 2017 Stealth Grey RS that replaces the Reflex Silver ‘14 ST that I had previously.
This forum was key in my info search as I looked at replacing my FoST. I test drove three different used RS (modded black ‘17, stock grey ‘17, stock race red ‘18) as well as a couple Golf Rs including a new stock and a used with stage 2 tune. The VW salesman tried to convince me that the Golf was a civilized hot hatch. I much preferred the look and feel of the RS!
Hello from Rochester, NY. This is my 5th Focus [if we count the '04 SE Wagon my wife drove]. First two were black 3 door SVT's, then a '13 ST and now the newest - '17 RS. I searched for months, wanted a white RS, sunroof, heated seats/mirrors/wheel and some mods. Found it here from another member with just under 9k on the odometer. Just put the snows on and looking forward to a bit of drifting and playing once the snow sticks around. May take it on the track next year [Watkins Glen] but is my daily driver and leave the track duty to my old LS swapped Datsun 240z...
My Name is David and I have wanted a Focus RS since they announced it was coming to the states. I couldn't afford it back in 2016 so I bought a '14 ST3. I loved that car and drove it a little over 4 years. It was a FBO with a custom tune from Randy from Mountune. Recently found a bone stock Nitrous Blue RS2 in Covington Georgia with only 25k miles on it for 27k out the door. I've had it for 2 weeks today and absolutely love it. I have a Drop in filter and Accessport on the way. looking forward to this new project.
Good morning! New to the group but not to cars. Located in Munfordville, KY. Just recently picked up a 16k mile 2016 RS2 all stock with a ton of aftermarket parts to bolt on. I'm transitioning from a long list of cars. Most recent was my 04 Mystic Cobra Vert and several 3rd gen 4Runners. I love this little corner cutter and can't wait to learn all about it! I'm stoked to have found this forum! Money pit here I come! Thanks!
Hello everyone! Just traded in my 2019 Ford Ranger for a 16 shadow black RS with 23k on it the other day. Dealer offered me a deal on my truck i couldn't pass up and i've always wanted an RS. It has a Militek exhaust on it but stock otherwise and i've never had so much fun driving a car before. I come from mainly VW and audi's. Glad to be apart of the RS club now!!
