Hi guys.

I'm new to the forum. I currently drive an old Fiesta ST and I am thinking of getting a Focus RS maybe sometime next year (hopefully).
I would just like some advice on which dealers are commended. I live in WA Perth.
Can anyone recommend a dealer that offer great pricing and service?

Any anecdote/advice on pre-ordering?
Do you have to pay in full for pre-order or a just a certain amount?
Are dealers adding mark-up like in the US?

Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Kris. There are a few WA members on here, so you should be able to get a few different bits of feedback. My ordering process was relatively smooth. I put down an order in Nov '15 at McInerny Ford in Morley, and a $1k deposit (fully refundable if I decided not to go ahead for any reason at all) and paid retail price. I've found the sales guy there to be pretty good, always up for a chat and giving me as much info as possible when we do chat. For the servicing, I've had my wife's car serviced there and it seems generally ok.

For the pricing, from what I've seen, if you want it now, then you could be paying a fair bit over retail price, but if you are prepared to wait, I don't see that you shouldn't be able to get it at retail. Perhaps some others can shed light on their own experiences and prove me wrong though

speaking to my dealer at the traffic lights the other day, he said delivery is out past 18months, so you'll be lucky if you get one next year. your best option would be to call around and see if anyone has dropped out of their order.

you wont get a discount, full retail, and dealer delivery is much of a muchness, i dont think anyone has been screwed with mark ups, its not really the done thing in australia.

My advice is ring around dealers....
See what they are quotng for delivery.
It is all about allocation, if they have sold lots then you will have to wait. if they have sold a few you will be higher up the list

I rang a few and Nuford was saying Dec 17.... Range FOrd said mid next year.

Midvale Ford said Jan/Feb 17 I place an order in June 16 and have a potential build date of Nov 16

Forget about service costs you can take it to any ford dealer so you do not have to worry about that when buying.
however if they are anything like the Mk2 RS then they are not that cheap to service.

Well I ordered mine in July this year & am looking at delivery at the same time next year, but nobody was able to match the price I got. Can send sales details through PM if you want

Just wanted to give and update that I have signed a contract for the order and will be making my deposit next week =]
Was busy the last couple of weeks so I wasn't able to work on this.

Thanks to all the replies and advice. You guys rock!

Great stuff Sleeper. Welcome to the club. Any idea on delivery timeframe?
@ashy are you still keeping your list up to date of orders/deliveries?

Welcome Kris and congrats. Who did you end up going through? I was going to +1 for Midway Ford.

Now cross those fingers for a cancellation so you can move up the list :)

Thanks guys. I ended up going with Range Ford. The guy i spoke to was very direct and told me straight up: "Okay so at what price are you looking at that you won't call other dealers?"
I gave him a very reasonable number and he said: "Okay I can do that but you have to sign a contract today."
And that was that lol.
Will be meeting him next week for the deposit and possibly to get my Fiesta valued for trade-in if they price it reasonably or i may have to sell it privately...

There were pms suggesting going with McInerney Ford and look for Caleb but unfortunately he was on leave for a couple of weeks. The guy I spoke to didn't know much about the RS tbh and he quoted me with $66k. Lol...
I'm like "thanks, i'll see what other dealers have on offer and maybe I'll call u back."

I noticed you got a Moutune OZ Legeera m-spec for your RS. Did you order that as option on the dealer here in Perth or did you privately purchase it and have it shipped here?

Ordered after the car arrived and shipped over.
