There are RSs locked away with new delivery miles on them, and they will stay that way until they're crossing an auction block at Barrett Jackson in 2040, or on BAT with 30k miles in 10-15 years. We';re already seeing STIs, VW Rs and Neon SRT4s on BAT. Someone's going to pay for it. Heck, in 30 years, if I had the means to relieve one of my favorite cars for $100k, I probably would.

I drive mine, I love mine. I get the itch every few months, I test drive an M3 with 6spd, GT350, Alfa QV, Hellcat, and I ask my self, "Is this a better car?" And the answer is well, it may be marginally better to drive, but it's certainty not as practical. I will not love when someone rear ends me or vice versa and it ends up in this thread.

As for my DD beater, I'm thinking B6/7 S4 Avant. Not exactly your every day beater, but seeing good examples with 140k miles for $4-8k with maintenance records. Little elbow grease, should make it to 200k miles. Or maybe even a 500 Abarth. Something I could roll my sleeves up with, change the oil, and feel like a man! Plan was to always DD the RS for about 3 years, do 20k miles, then ease back on the miles with another car to DD and take the beating.

Been driving our new 2020 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium to work 1-2x a week now. Love that beast. Doesn't get up and go around left lane campers like the RS, but it's certainty big, mean and thirsty!

Anyway, back to the RS graveyard that I hope my RS doesn't end up in. :D

Yea but you have to ask yourself if you’ll be okay driving a daily beater? As opposed to a bad azzzz looking Focus RS that turns heads on the road? Personally, I don’t see it as wasted miles. Cars are meant to be driven & you worked for it, so drive the darn car. It’s not like an RS is going to be worth six-figures 20yrs from now. These cars are depreciating every-day.

This one exactly! I have a 2000 Honda Accord sitting on my driveway and I still choose to never drive it because it's boring compared to my RS. There's no point in it sitting and collecting dust. Cars should never be considered an investment. (unless it's like a 1 of 10 Koenigsegg or something). If you're hoping to make money on the RS you're already losing. Maybe not the money part but definitely the excitement part. This is exactly why Ford had the super difficult selection process for the new GT. They wanted the cars to go to people that are going to drive them. If they know you were going to keep it in a garage all it's life you most likely didn't get an allocation. Drive the damn car.

I don't get it - what's wrong with this car? It looks undamaged.

It "was" listed as minor scratches, guess it's fixed now or is that officially staged?
