UPDATE: demolition derby count is now 335

Here's the current breakdown:

NB-104 (11 being LEs)
SG-86
SB-71,
FW-57, plus 1 REPO
RR-16

Those production numbers continue to drop.

Surprised at the low number of LEs (RR and NB) crashed. Probably low mileage collectibles.
Couple estimates out there, but call it 9,500 RSs came to the US between 16-18. So 8,500 16-17s and we have 335 on the tally in here (probably some Canadian though). About 3.62% of 16-17s are totaled compared to 2.7% of 18s. But 18s have only been on the road a max of 20 or so months while 16s have been on the road for 4 years already.

I dont get it... all these cars with over 10k miles on them and people still dont realize how quick these cars get moving without it feeling quick. So much front end damage.

Is that an unusually high rate of total losses for a new car? I have no clue what the industry average is, but it seems high to me. I wonder how it compares to other "enthusiast" cars.

Probably, I wonder what it looks like for STIs and WRXs or Mustangs!! The car is so good that it inspires confidence. Sometimes overconfidence, in my opinion. Match that with Cup Sports or PSSs, and not every day being 70*F+ and sunny, and I bet that can explain a lot. I whacked up my 17 WRX pretty bad in a ski parking lot with the stock summer tires on it. Like $4k in damage from a 7mph fender bender... That was so painful, it was literally watching a car crash in slow motion. I had like 75 feet, and the car just wouldn't stop. Anyway...

Anyone else thing it’s odd to see a car with a drift stick that is 100% stock under the hood - right down to the paper filter? Suppose it could have been parted out but the dust and dirt doesn’t appear to have been disturbed too much?

My car is stock minus drift stick and cat back. So, doesn't seem odd to me.

Being a ford performance part, I think it's a nice touch to a stock car. Debated buying a drift stick for a while, but have no plans on doing any other performance modifications to the car. Waiting for a silly price on ebay for it, bought some other stuff for the car instead over the weekend; winter wheels and weather tech mats.
