How would the owner have that kind of access to the impound lot holding his wrecked vehicle? They'll let you come and take your belongings out of the car but I've never heard of them allowing an owner to jack it up and swap out wheels and brakes.
Owner can request it towed to their own house, could have been done there. Or... it was not the owner at all, but someone at the site the car is at, with the mismatched wheels, at least 3 different styles, I would think it was someone with access to random wheels, like an employee where the car is.

I work for an insurance company and I've come to find out that some body shops do this on cars they know will be a total loss.

Pay enough money, you can do whatever you want. There's nothing in this world that's non-negotiable.

Wow, that poor FW. If I had to guess I’d say it hit a parked semi or something? That’s one hell of an impact.

I'm thinking that the vent air freshener in photo #5 needs some changing.

I didn't see this one on this list but may have missed it:

Only reason I mention it is because besides paint the car is rebuilt, it just passed inspection and got registered! It was a lot longer road than anticipated to get everything fixed without any dash lights or mechanical issues, but it's been a fun project and it's even more fun to finally drive! I'll post a couple pics tomorrow 😎
