Track. With ESC fully off. Flat concrete leave shocks in sport. If it’s a busted up parking lot, soften shocks to normal.

I second this. Track mode, hold the ESC button for forever until it turns off, and leave the dampers on stiff. We have a decent lot so I leave them on.

Thanks a lot. Thought Drift might help create some desired oversteer. Sounds like this car is more of the point-and-shoot variety.

Drift is too slow moving the power, autoX is quick quick quick.

The “how too” drive this car quick in autoX in 4words = .Back on gas soon. The Magic diff words best under full power, so the quicker back to power the better the car works.

So what setting are y’all finding to work best..... Sport, Track, or Drift ?
I use Track mode with the sport dampers turned off. I have to do that because I have the MCS TT1 suspension with aftermarket shocks. Also have ESC "turned off" by holding it down until the progress bar stops. It's not fully off, though.

CTR edged him by a tenth. Great run anyway, David. I guess we have to hope for rain at Nationals, right? ;)

Looks like its gonna be an uphill battle. Seems like a couple of the fast RS guys are leaving DS.. but at least so did Mike Leeder. lol

Sundays course was just a fast speed track. No digs. That benefits the CTR a lot - disappointed for sure.

Either way good job! You definitely made 'em work for it.

Interesting, are the RS guys going STU or leaving platform all together?

@gosefroba Are you still running the 245/40s? still like them better than 255/265? Did you notice any difference in top speed in 2nd gear?
So, I have two sets 245 40 18 BFGs and 255 35 18 RE71s. Both mounted stand the exact same height. I personally like the BFGs but they don't make it in a 255 or 265. The gearing is better in the 245s get an extra like 3mph

? I'm building/have been building a STU RS. I just don't talk about it on the internet because no one cares. ?
I'll be joining you in the STU crew whenever all this ends.

Installed:

COBB AP w/ Tune+ 92 tune.
Remus Catback System
Fortune Auto 500 with Eibach Racing Springs 400#/in front 425 #/in rear (used GC Coilover Conversion Kit). - Still need to dial in height + camber + alignment
Enkei Wheels - RPF1 18x9 +35mm w/ 245/40/18 MP4S

Awaiting Install:

Whiteline Front & Rear Swaybays + Endlinks.. probably wait a while to do these as I want to dial in the coilovers first.

I'm only doing it for casual fun (car is still my daily), but if I start to take it more seriously... I'll look into upgrading to some RE71's.

The 03/20/20 SCCA Fastrack News included a bunch of good STU proposed allowances.
1. Change max wheel width for all vehicles in STU to 11". Max tire size for all vehicles 315.
2. Expand the existing intercooler allowance to include STU.
3. Turbocharged vehicles may make mechanical changes to the boost controls such as replacement of electronic boost control solenoids, blow-off valves, removal of restrictor pills, etc. No changes to the turbo or wastegate. This allowance would only apply to STU and STH and follows current SP rules.
4. A new clutch allowance following the LP SP rules. Clutch friction surface and flywheel must remain OE diameter and OE number of friction surfaces. Allows for converting from dual mass flywheels to single mass flywheels. Clutch slave and master may be replaced. This allowance would only apply to forced induction cars in STU and STH.
5. AWD vehicles may substitute one differential regardless of how many it came with from the factory.

I've never been very competitive in PAX because of the SM multiplier. A few locals suggested that I de-mod my RS to run STU. That would mean I go back to stock intercooler piping, stock wastegate, and re-install the rear seats. Meh. I think I'll keep it modded the way it is and keep being competitive in SM and overall RAW time.

Those are very interesting changes. Thanks for the heads up!

.
Does this mean we can add an LSD to the front now? Hmm

Also does anyone know if there are wheel offset limits in STU? Or is it just wheel width and tire size? I see most people are running 8.5/9, is that because there’s no room for more?

I’m tempted to start modding my car.. I finally threw on the whiteline swaybar after having it sitting for ~8months. It was such a PITA to install(thanks Hank for the nord locker tip). If this season doesn’t get going soon I may just build to STU to keep me busy.
