Given the somewhat truthful but scarce info Ford has bestowed upon us vampires for the Focus RS, what do you think your first modification will be? (if any)

(1) I'm thinking nothing but Premium 93 since it's reported the 2.3EB drops a bit of HP on any other blend of fuel.

(2) Then a re-usable air filter.

(3) Tune when it's available.

Slow and steady on the mods.

yeah I'm not going to jump the gun and mod right away, I'll wait like I normally do and learn the car and figure out what I'd like to change first, but with this car I doubt I'll do anything other than a shift knob and rims and tires if that...I feel like this car won't need a whole lot of modding..

but I'll probably eat my words

I suppose the first thing I would do is plug in my Accessport, and do a couple WOT runs to see how the intercooler does. If acceptable, I'll probably pick up a green filter...if it struggles like with the ST...that HAS to be the first mod.

My first mod will be to add some Green accents to it to give it my signature flare. Then run over to Panda Motorworks LLC to have them get me a bad ass tune for it. Then I will go grab some goodies from Boosted Designs.

Not sure what I'll go for to be honest. Exhaust sounds pretty decent as it is, so more than likely not that for a while.

I'll wait until I've driven it to see what needs upgrading, then go from there.

I'll probably take it reasonably easy at first (famous last words), as I can see the 4wd system being pricey if anything goes wrong!

Well with some of the tunes they have done for the Mustang Ecoboost... and knowing that the motor in the RS will have more cooling and beefed up internals... That would be the way to go to get some serious gains. I probably wouldn't do much more than window tint in a Special Edition car like that to be honest. From the sounds of it, the RS will be right where I'd like a focus to be from the factory. Maybe some different wheels... even though the stockers are pretty cool. Probably keep those for winter/all seasons after blowing through the first set and put some sticky ones on some euro spoke style rims with a little wider set up.

I think it would look good with some TE37 wheels... If I am paying 40k for the car then I will probably be willing to buy the real Volks. The FMIC also, if it is a weak point as it was on the ST, or maybe just if the CXR IC that I already have would be an upgrade. And an Accessport tune done by [email protected], of course. I cant really see myself doing anything past that, because the car is so awesome as it is. Then again, I said that about the ST before I bought it too...

Regarding the tune, while 2.3 EB support will probably be available by then, I believe the RS engine will be slightly different as compared to the Mustangs' 2.3 EB so we'll have to see what kind differences there are.
Also, we'll see how the stock FMIC works lol
