So to confirm, this was an option sold for the RS or an option on the ST that can be used for the RS?

 

This is what I ... worked out for my RS.
I never used this "new" subwoofer that is for sale.
The other goods were included with my RS when it was sold.

This is one item I had left over ... buyer did not want it ... .

It is an option on the ST and other "regular" focus cars ... as they all had a spare tyre in the center of the boot.

The RS has the rear diff, so the floor is 'raised' compared to the other Focus cars, so no "spare" tire.
Ford then put the subwoofer in the center of the boot ... a "round thing" ...

SO, when one decides they want to put in a mini spare (jaguar aluminum w/a cadillac spare tire to match the OEM RS ties) the have to remove the RS subwoofer.
Then, to "hold the mini spare" ... one gets a ST read styrofoam insert (as the ST has a larger spare than the other focus cars !!) ... and so, no subwoofer.

This subwoofer, for sale, is the one that can be attached to the right-side of the boot (as in the other focus cars) and w/the "special" harness connector ... one can then attach their RS subwoofer wires ... boom boom boom ...

What a deal, yeah?

The JagUar spare ... 18" ... clears the front Brembo caliper.

The "idea" of the mini spare is ... you can "get home" or to some place ... especially if on a road trip into the rural areas ... where going 150 mph in your Focus RS ... is possible. Those places (like Hwy 50 in Nevada) ... have NO services ... so then what if a puncture occurs ? yep ... mini spare time !!
