I was on a road trip in my RS thru desert land. I opened-it-up a few times, and each time the rev limiter cut in at 120 mph. Elevation was about 4,000 ft. I expected to be able to go faster than 120 mph!
I didn’t say you were. I was stating it should not do that unless you did not upshift.
Something is up. Any chance it was a used car? Maybe a valet tune? Those limit boost or speed or rev limit?

I'm not sure with this car but not all cars have a "rababababa" rev break up sound at rev limit. Some go smooth just like a speed limiter. My 370Z does this when I pass with a 3rd or 4th gear pull. It just smooths and doesn't progress after 7500rpm. Just saying.
When you hit the rev-limiter in my GTA its like someone hit the brakes, especially in 1st and 2nd because it accelerates so much harder in those gears and the sudden absence of it is like a slap to the back of the head. And its REALLY easy to hit the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd because it spins up so fast.
Half the time in 1st I shift by 6500, because I know I'll never shift in time if I take it all the way to 7000rpm. I've hit the 7200 limiter a few times when trying to run it out in 1st. 2nd can still catch you out if you get distracted.
The RS is similar when I have hit the limiter. Usually that happens because I'm racing some ungodly loud car and I can't hear the RS over the Cammed Full exhaust Corvette. So the car suddenly stops accelerating and you look down and realize it hit 6700rpm, then you shift and go "lol, oops!" The RS is quiet as a mouse fart.
There was also two places in Forscan to limit the speed called Adjustable Speed Limiter and Speed Limitation, I would check to see if these are activated .

Way above my pay grade ... I have no idea what Forscan is. But Thanks. View attachment 363946View attachment 363947View attachment 363948
MyKey setup may be listed in the owners manual (seem to remember seeing a listing for it---not positive though), and/or a Ford Dealer and Internet should be able to shed some light on that topic. good luck!
geez i want even paying attention to hitting the rev limiter, just thought he was cutting out at @120 lol yeah something is off like tire size in the ecu or something.. that can also be changed in Forscan
Around what PSI was the Boost Gauge showing? I noticed you havent actually answered the actual RPM you were at when the cut out happened, perhaps you werent actually at the rev limit as stated but are just speed limited for some reason in the ecu programming??? If the RPM's are actually hitting the rev limiter in 6th gear at 120 than I would think all the other gears should be hitting the rev limiter at much lower speeds than normal.
Just saying, you came here to ask questions, then with the knowledge experienced people have to give, you shot it back in their faces like their help didn't matter and their experiences was invalid. How do you think this type of behavior would be received? This is why people are calling you out to be a troll. A good majority here know the car inside and out.
I cannot imagine asking the dealer to even investigate this... How do you ask for them to check this out so that you can exceed this 120mph on public roads? 🤨 I would imagine even most track day tracks are not high speed, it is more about acceleration, brake, acceleration, brake, etc.
Ok guys I’m not gonna read this whole thread, but OP says he was in 6th and was at redline and only did 120mph. regardless of what key or a valet mode, the car has gearing and logic would dictate either
1. The OP is lying
2. The OP is just wrong
3. His clutch is slipping so bad that it allowed the car to bypass the actual gear ratios
