OE Jack Option

I posted about a jack I had (Jaguar) and a kind member brought it to my attention that it wouldn't work properly on the Focus.

So, I bought a Ford Edge jack kit (2007-2014), and tested it out. It lifts the car easily. It has a felt cover that keeps it all tidy. And it fits in the large under-hatch cubby hole perfectly. So it's basically invisible.

Look for this jack kit if you want something to stash away in case it's ever needed.

Awesome find OP! I usually bring along my aluminum jack when I take my spare with me, but I like your solution better. You don't happen to have a part number do you?

I just got mine on eBay. I don't know if it's sold as a kit or not from the dealer.
Got the same jack out of a base MK3 focus at the local junkyard!

They are out there and cost only a few bucks when you find it at the junkyard!

That's interesting, in the US the Mk3 Focus jack comes like this. It's a little smaller than the Edge jack and it doesn't wind quite as 'flat' (I compared my dad's ST to the Edge one I got). It might still fold flat enough to fit in the cubby, I didn't think it would but I didn't try it. It doesn't have the felt cover.

I thought I wanted this style originally because it could 'nest' in spare. But now I prefer to have the jack just 'always there'.

Edit: here's a good shot of the Focus jack collapsed to compare to the Edge. If anyone has a lowered car, the Edge jack definitely is lower profile (surprisingly).

Ok one more annoying point of research 😂

Looks like the Ford Flex has a jack in a bag too, and it's more similar to the Focus OE Jack. Might also be a good option.

The Focus ST jack is supposed to be a spot on even missing the body kit

Good point they do seem to differ a little! I would have to pull mine out to compare to the pictures you posted now!!

I can confirm the focus jack I got came with the round foam piece which I am not using and the jack can be collapsed flat to fit in the RS foams cubby like you did. I remember trying the jack to confirm fitment and clearance to the side skirt but this has me wanting to recheck now 🤣

In any case the info you posted is definitely useful to anyone looking at adding an emergency jack to their RS toolkit! I’ll post pics of my focus jack and confirm fitment whenever I end up pulling it out of the trunk!

Hhhhhmmmmm??????? I'm really tempted to check Amazon and/or the local salvage yards for one of those jack kits, but I don't know what good it would do me without a spare. THANKS to all for the info and source suggestions! (y)

For some reason I also own a FiST. When I'm at the track in the RS I take the FiST jack which works great!
I cut the goofy manual crank off, leaving a 19mm nut, same as the RS lugs. Bonus.

Some of the Jaguar jacks will work, I mixed and matched my spare kit. The tire/wheel is from a 2016 Jag XJ but my spare tire kit (jack/wrench/foam) is from a 2015 Jag XF. It's hard to see from the pic but the XF jack will fit the pinch weld on the RS, I jacked the car up as a test just to be sure.

That fits nicely. Good to know the XF jack works on the RS. I got an XJ jack and while it fit nicely in the spare, it didn't really jack the car up...

Wow, that looks great! Does it lift the floor of the hatch any?

Sorry for the late reply, but yes the floor is higher about 1-2"

Gotcha. That still looks neat. Do you think there's an opportunity to lower it, or is it down to the metal?
