Well, 174 miles in and I already get to file an insurance claim. Yay. :livid::mad: Leaving work this afternoon I was passing a dumptruck and as I'm next to the truck a very large rock or something nailed the windshield. I'm not sure what it was, but it was large enough that I instinctively dodged in my seat. Fortunately it didn't hit anything but the windshield so no body/paint damage.

EDIT: I was going to share pics of the damage here, but apparently I'm too new here haha

It might be repairable, but it's right in front of me and I know it will bother me that it's there so I'm going to have the windshield replaced. I read several threads earlier about windshield replacement, and I'm still not sure about which windshield I should be expecting. Sounds like several people received either ST or just regular Focus windshields. I called Ford and had them give me the part # (BM5Z5803100D). I told Safelite that I was specifically requesting a Ford OEM replacement and gave them the part # so we'll see how it goes. Have any of you had to deal with a windshield replacement locally?

Well, after having my windshield cracked on the 2nd day of ownership, I got it replaced today. It's a bit unnerving to see your brand new car sitting in the garage with no windshield.

I specifically requested an OEM windshield replacement and ended up having to double check with them because they had the wrong part # the first time, but Safelite did a great job with this one. If anyone needs a windshield replaced in the Raleigh area, I'd suggest requesting Melvin. He did a very thorough job.

Had my car in for the pressure tested today at Crossroads in Wake Forest. Overall happy with the experience. They say the head gasket is on back order and they are waiting on mine and one other right now. They will call me to schedule the head gasket repair after they know when they will have the parts.

Let’s try this again. Had the pressure test done today at Crossroads in Wake Forest and was pretty happy with the care. They have ordered the HG kit, but say it is in backordered and that I and one other customer of theirs is waiting now. They will call to schedule the gasket replacement after they know when they are getting the parts. They seemed happy to help me and did not push back at all about doing the work.
