The Bugatti doesn't seem that expensive when I think about paying for each mile per hour. Would it be possible for me to only drive it 5mph so that I could own a Bugatti.
That would be just 3mph for me then..... 4mph tops! The Bugatti doesn't seem that expensive when I think about paying for each mile per hour. Would it be possible for me to only drive it 5mph so that I could own a Bugatti.
It is drag/engine power limited. Basically at that speed, the air resistance is so large, that the engine is on the power limit to move the car forward at that speed. Of course you could have tail wind and then the top speed that you actually get would be higher but I believe for the rating purpose no wind is assumed.the 165 mph top speed of the focus RS, how is that determined/governed? Is it an electronic speed limiter that limits the car's top speed once 165 mph is reached (speed limited)? Or is it that at 165 mph you are at max revs/redline in the highest/6th gear and can no longer accelerate (rev limited). Or is that just the natural top speed of the car with the stock engine/no tune (i.e. power no longer enough to overcome drag at that speed) (drag limited)? I was never able to find a clear answer to which of those 3 categories our car falls in. And clearly I haven't been able to take this car up to 165 mph to test it for myself haha.

The RS can actually get to 6800 RPM for a few seconds. And this is a post of one member of the forum getting to 168MPH - https://www.focusrs.org/forum/33-fo...jave-magnum-past-weekend-1-5-mile-course.htmlIt's the end of 6th gear at 6,500rpm
I think you’re all dreamers. 165 mph? Never gonna happen. The RS is a fun street car, but it has the aero of a brick. And, given that everything is calculated rather than actually measured (such as oil temperature), I would assume that 165 mph is some advertising guy’s calculated wet dream.the 165 mph top speed of the focus RS, how is that determined/governed?
