So my mpss will need replacing soon. Will step down to a 17inch rim for better ride quality - predominantly daily driver.
I love the sliding/drift qualities of this car, its so easy to control at the boundaries of traction.
Has got me thinking of putting less grippy tyres on. Anyone done this? Suggestions?
Anyone using different tyres front and back? Say cup2 on front and pilot 3 on back?

I'm using General Tire Gmax RS's on my 19" stock rims for summer. I took the Cup 2's off to save them for the track.

The Gmax RS is a great tire. Road noise is a little louder but for the street with a "Z" rating they are plenty sticky enough and great in the wet. They throw a lot less rocks then the C2's and are perfect for spirited driving. Tire rack did testing and they get a good track review as well. Michelin is better no doubt but these are a great budget option.

I ran General tires on my 02 WRX and they were very good.

Well my experiment with less "sticky" tyres has been a failure so far. Moved to 18inch rims and replaced the MPSS with Davanti DX640 (less than half the price of the MPSS).
And.... well now I have more grip than I ever had before... did not expect that lol
Will be interesting to see how long these tyres last.
