Me too. I'm out of (reasonable) mods to do to this car.
Me too. I'm out of (reasonable) mods to do to this car.I'm getting on this thread in hopes to see an update on when a new batch will be available. I can't believe I missed out on the initial sale of this.
Since it looks like they're never making a second batch, I'll buy yours! So this is a weird one.
Went to get my car inspected and the inspection machine couldn't read the OBD II port, I would plug in my AP and it would work, but the inspection machine would not, and the tech said he didn't know what it could be, and he was about to fail the car.
I kept thinking of the only new thing from las year and it was the digital gauges, I asked if I could disconnect them, and then boom, the machine read the OBD II port and I was able to pass.
Just thought I'd share in case anyone runs into the same thing.
In the great words of @OverkillYJ , Since it looks like they're never making a second batch, I'll buy yours!@2002whitegt
Which guages are you running?
I've found that some monitors interfere with CanBus data and don't work well with other OBDII devices, while others are no problem. Meaning that while I can have practically any monitors on the dash whith the Cobb AP, I can't with many other devices.
I created a quick option I labeled "Compatibility Mode", which works well with everything I've tried, OBDII wise. It monitors Boost, Oil Temperature, and Accelerator Pedal Position. Not the most useful set of guages, but one of the most compatible. It may be easier to setup such a mode (or just switch to those monitors temporarily) when anticipating an inspection, rather than unplugging, depending on your circumstances. View attachment 359951
I had the exact same thing happen to me back in October. I also have the DSC suspension controller and my Pioneer headunit connected to CAN BUS. The tech was about to fail it when I guessed it might be overwhelming how much data could be transmitted or received and decided to disconnect the digital dash and try again. It passed first try after disconnecting. So this is a weird one.

Just to make sure I didn't miss this announcement @nicklulu - did you see where they actually announced not making anymore? Totally pissed and frustrated if true...In the great words of @OverkillYJ , Since it looks like they're never making a second batch, I'll buy yours!
🤣😁
Looks like he updated on the discord server. Supply chain issues unsurprisingly 😢Just to make sure I didn't miss this announcement @nicklulu - did you see where they actually announced not making anymore? Totally pissed and frustrated if true...
@KaiserEngineering - can you feed us any information? Maybe try to respond to a email, forum or two? Either to give us hope or at least crush my 5 year dream of wanting one, only to find out too late that they went on sale and were gone within seconds, never to be seen again.
Sadly - I have ditched the possibility of going this direction. This was the first thing I wanted to do when I was looking at purchasing the car back in 2017. Waited what seemed like forever, but clearly if you weren't in 9 million places on the internet at once and at your computer the moment it was available you missed out.I'm getting on this thread in hopes to see an update on when a new batch will be available. Ultimately its the better way to go. Install your own sensors, run the wires and be done with it!Sadly - I have ditched the possibility of going this direction. Horrible communication from them (at least with those that want to be potential customers) - I joined a bunch of social media just in hopes, but that....to quote the Mandalorian...is not the way. My hats off to these guys for what seems like a fantastic system, just horrible at every other area.
So going old school and putting in physical gauges. C'est la vie
I was with ya...I thought $600-ish (give or take a $100) was a great deal for what it could do.They promised another release "soon." They supposedly have all the parts, but they just posted a picture of their tach with a shift light for the Miata.
So one day. I have my $600 ready. I'll probably go on aliexpress and order an extra LCD or two just in case. Maybe an extra Raspberry Pi as well.
