Hey Guys! So all day yesterday, I was on the phone calling at least fifteen to twenty dealers localish to the south bay area. To be honest it was a mixed bunch, some knew nothing (whom I educated), some knew enough, and some were just plain jerks saying they were going to markup like crazy... The ones that were spouting heavy markups, I said thanks and good day to, and called back and spoke with someone else, if they gave me the same line I crossed them off the list.

Today I made my first trip to my closest dealer and sat down and handed him a copy of the order guide with everything highlighted that I wanted. He took a copy of my ID, a check for $500 (that he said he wasn't going to cash/deposit, it was just to show the GM that I was interested) and mocked up my order in the build system. Unfortunately he couldn't save my build obviously as the order banks aren't open yet so he just saved the info. As we were wrapping up, he casually mentions, "Ya know, there's going to be a 3-5k markup on these cars right? I just want to make sure you're aware.". I kind of laughed and said well, out of the fifteen other dealers I've spoken to, a good lot of them are doing MSRP. Then he says, "It's all decided by corporate of course, but we don't know for sure, but we're thinking 3-5k". I told him well I still want to get my order in anyway, and when the 12th comes around and its time to actually place the order, let me know the final price and we'll decide what to do. We shook hands, and I was on my way.

Meanwhile, as I'm driving back to work, another local dealer calls me telling me he's already spoken to his GM about my order, and they're going to do MSRP. I'm working on going over there tonight to put in a deposit with them as well.

I'll update this thread once that's done and if/when my order gets put in officially. I'm not too keen on paying any kind of ADM, but it all depends on availability in my area.

Cheers!
Josh

Congrats!
No congrats just yet, save that for when my order is in! :D

Congrats Josh mine is same color, added moon roof, didn't get car cover (always garaged)
I probably don't need the Car Cover, but my garage is currently occupied by a pool table, so if I know it's gonna sit for a bit, I'll cover it as the Cali sun is monstrous. Thanks!

Well alright then! I called the second dealer on my way home to see if I could swing by tomorrow morning to drop off a deposit and kind of prod him a bit for more info... He said, "let me go talk to my order guy and I'll call you back." By the time I was home, I checked my email and found he had sent me back a PDF of my order I sent him with pricing hand written next to it.

To my delight, it was all MSRP! The body of the email read, "Hi Josh, the focus was ordered today in your name. I will have official document next week. The ordering would not allow us to print off the order, don’t know why. But this should be a good indicator what it will be." To me this reads as, they put it in the build system but it wouldn't let them place the order as it isn't open for the RS yet, so they just saved the order. I'm still gonna go put down a deposit to ensure everything is good, but its starting to look more and more like I'll get my RS after all!

Edit: The only thing that raised an eyebrow was the Car Cover was listed at $375... That sound right? Oh well, THROW IT IN! :D

awesome, good to hear another person is getting theirs at MSRP. We have to collectively screw these dealers with ADM. LOL @ "it's all decided by corporate of course"...I hope he meant his dealership's corporate (not even sure what that means) and not Ford corporate because that's a joke.

375 for the car cover is a good deal if its a quality cover. california car covers for instance has covers ranging from 250-400 for most focus sized cars.
at 375, and not having a garage space for the car, Im all over it.

interested to know what the winter wheel setup costs as well. think Im going to spring for that too.

That particular dealership was part of a 'Group' of dealers. I'm assuming he meant their corporate.

Ahh nice, I wasn't sure how much they were to be honest... Lets see how long I use it before getting tired of putting it on. :D

Did they list a price on the winter wheel package by chance?

Unfortunately no, I didn't have it on my list, so they didn't price it out. I'll try and remember to find out when I take a trip over to drop off the deposit. :)

In all the pricing information that has been distributed I have not seen pricing on the "winter wheels" or the "car cover". When I made my deposit the dealer did not have pricing yet, just the 2016 Ford Focus RS Order Guide pdf which has the option codes but not the actual prices. We might have to wait until the actual order date, October 12, 2015, to get actual prices even though we are pretty sure what most of the prices will be/are. :D

Good Luck!

YMMV,

CONGRATS! I'm still looking for a dealer that will honor MSRP. I'm off tomorrow so I will be visting a few local dealers as well as going to other mfg dealers. My budget is well above the RS but I refuse to pay MSRP for anything. This is what kept me from buying a Hellcat when they came out. I refuse to do it.

Also chomping at the bit in Canada for this hooligan! Placed 5 large deposit on nitrous blue metallic quad-coat w/ RS2 equipment group.
I am realllllllly happy that I was able to secure my Nitrous blue. But I have been on this site so much over the last few days my wife thinks I am cruising porn or dating sites. But after reading all the post from people who are getting screwed over or worst not able to secure a car I got to thinking. Being one who once worked for a manufacture I know a few things to be true. One lots of the product line sales success is regional. For example, Subaru for the longest time was extremely popular in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and the Northwest. And near dead everywhere else. Then over time, they trickled down to the rest of the U.S. VW had the same pattern with its diesel line ( save the jokes). Well every manufacture has certain cars that have the same track record. One, thing is certain, the U.S. is the worlds largest car consuming nation. Other manufactures are selling cars in the same group as the RS. And everyone one of those companies have the same problem. Not enough available, price gauging, long waits for delivery....... Hey Ford! you want to dominate the hot hatch class???? Rule 1) Slap your dealers in the face if they want to stick ADM on people. Customers will respond well and won't go to other brands with shorter wait times. 2) should have invested in the plant to support more production.Think about it. You just added the U.S. to the RS offering. Sales are going to be epic as long as the cars are to be had. WE ARE A INSTANT GRATIFICATION SOCIETY. 3) you have the most loyal customer base in the industry. Recognize this and give some respect to the customer.

Sorry just venting........

I took a trip to one of my dealers today, and handed them the keys to my Raptor! They gave me 50k for it (I still owed 25, so the rest will go toward the RS)... Now I'm officially committed... I'll post more info after the order goes in officially Monday.

So I failed to update this post once it was official, like everyone else the build system still wouldn't take orders on Monday 10/12, but as of Tuesday 10/13 my order was officially put in and I am now in the long wait with everyone else!

Hopefully the builds start getting picked up soon and we can all impatiently track the progress!
