So I Thought I'd Start a Hudson valley owners thread considering I've been seeing many more RS's around my area and the surrounding.
I want to focus this on Hudson Valley activities, Car Shows, events etc. Dealer recommendations, Good local install shops and tuners. Hopefully we can get something together as a group, I know the ST guys have/had a big gathering.

To start off, now that we have the Recall issued I would like to see which dealers in the area people were planning on going who got the recall letter. I plan on going to Sunshine ford in Newburgh, but would like to hear other peoples recommendations, Sunshine has had the best reputation in my area for their service department.

My friends uncle has a blue one with a partially painted black hood. I haven't met him. Theres another member on here that lives in the HV. He bought his car the same night I did from the same dealer. I've seen a white one in the Tuxedo NY train station as well. I've seen almost every color RS -- all except the red.

I saw a kid with a red one Getting off 84 at exit seven he was behind me. Its actually decent red in person, I wasn't convinced by pictures but in person it looks sick, I just wish they color matched the calipers. The blue on red looks a little Crayola-ish

I havent gotten anything yet but I saw the notice on my Ford owners page. My car has a July/17 build date. My car only has 1100 miles but it's going in for an oil change this weekend so I'll probably ask about it then. I go to Healey Ford.

I used to ride the bus to work with this dude that had a 2016 SG and his headgas blew at 20k. Healey Ford did the repair and the car was running great afterwards. This was over the summer if I remember correctly

I am going to Healey Ford on Tuesday for the pressure test. I also told them I would like the PTU looked at as I have a small leak from the intermediate shaft seal.

Sunshine Ford is probably good, I bought my ST there but never had any service done by them.

It would be cool to have a meet with other HV owners, I have only seen 1 or 2 RSes since I bought mine.

I'm at Healey Ford right now and 2 of the advisors aren't very familiar with the head gasket fsa.

Hey all! I've been seeing more RS's pop up also, good call to start a thread. I'm driving a 16 blue RS, about 25,000 miles on it without an issue so far (noticing some rough idle on cold start now but no coolant drop yet).

To answer your question, I'll be taking my RS to Sunshine for the field service action. I live in Wappingers Falls, on the other side of the river, but Sunshine has done great service for me so far. I originally bought my RS around Philadelphia right before I moved up here and Sunshine was the first delearship I took my RS to because they had a clue of what the RS was when the car first came out...

I'm scheduled to go in next week and it sounded like 2 other RS's were scheduled at Sunshine when I last talked to their service department so hopefully they have some good knowledge on the notice by now. In terms of mods I have a UPR catch can, mountune breather plate, blow off valve, and green air filter which I'll leave on for the field service action. I have a UPR breather oil cap which I'll switch out with the stock oil cap before bringing it in. I wonder if the catch can will create some confusion when they remove the intake but I'm hoping it's no issue.

I'm probably one of those RS's, I'm Scheduled for the 7th,

from what I heard, as long as you haven't done a built motor, or anything crazy like that Modifications will not void the service work. The guy James at sunshine is cool dude, he is a mod friendly tech so he gets it.

Impressed with Healey so far.

I went in for the FSA and ptu leak and the service advisor told me to hang out for a bit and they will look over the car.

I started to mention the 5 hour leak test and he said don't worry about it we are going to order you parts first. I was concerned they were going to blow off the pressure test and just tell me I only need a gasket. I waited an hour, he verified the ptu leak (told me I was wrong it wasn't a ptu leak it was an axle shaft seal. Didn't feel the need to argue about what he wants to call it lol) and said he will order a ptu gasket set and a head gasket and then do the pressure test once the parts are in and the car is back to see if I need a head or not.

I mentioned the possibility of issues since Ford may only allow one kit per VIN and he told me not to worry about it, he will make sure I get a head if I need it.

I am impressed. Healey saved me an extra trip and possible wasted day and I feel confident they won't cut corners with any of the testing or inspection. I was told a loaner car will be ready for me once the parts come in.

Dude I went in there and had a completely different experience. I wouldn't say it was a bad one just not the same. I was told to call back in 2 weeks.... I know the advisor that helped me asked the one that you referred me to as well. Are you showing signs of a bad head gasket?

I thought he was going to give me a hard time at first but he came back and said he is going to order the parts and then have me bring the car back once they arrive. Now I won't have to leave my car at the dealer or risk driving it after a pressure test and possibly having the gasket fail in between the test and the time the parts come in.

I called Healey the day after the FSA was announced and made an appointment.

I have no signs of a bad gasket other than an occasional rough idle.

I see.

I'll give them a call after the 2 weeks. All I wanted to do last weekend, while I was there, was make the appointment for the pressure test. I don't think I need a head and would rather just the head gasket. I'm only at 1200k right now and figure the sooner the better lol

Did they give you an estimate on when to expect the parts?

Agreed, I hope I only need a gasket as well. I definitely don't want to get to the point of burning coolant and possibly getting coolant in the oil so I will be glad when this is done. I was never really worried about it though.

No estimate yet, I hope I hear something this week. I also have to wait on the ptu seal and a while back I had them try to order replacement windshield trim for me so that should be taken care of during this visit. Totally different experience from my last dealer which ironically was Healey Chevy in Middletown. They treated me horribly.
