Well, I have been on FoST.org for over 2 years now, but I thought I would say hi to anyone who isn't coming from there. Anyway, I'm Mark, I have owned a 2013 Focus ST since March of 2013, which I plan on selling at the end of next year when I go to England to do my Masters. After I finish there and move back home, I plan on buying a Focus RS, new if they are still selling them by that point, but if not then probably the first reasonable used one I come across.

I was living in Hawaii for the last 5 years while I was in the Marine Corps, but I just got out last October, and I am in the process of moving to Chicago, where I will be finishing my Bachelors degree at DePaul University (and maybe a Masters while I'm at it, I haven't decided yet). I'm originally from Cincinnati, OH, and my wife is from Boise, ID, so I spend a fair amount of time in those two places, and I always love to see other FoST and FiST, and hopefully RS drivers. We love to travel both in the United States and internationally, and plan to do a lot of that in the next few years (which means that I better finish school and get a job, quick!).

I came from the Subaru community; I used to drive a 2002 WRX with about 300whp, though I still think my Focus is better in every way. I have also owned a supercharged 2004 RSX Type S (garbage), a 1993 Nissan 240SX (a failed project), and a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT (more garbage). I hope to begin a new project around the same time I buy my RS, probably a race car. I am thinking of a Z31 300ZX, another 240SX, MKIII Supra, another WRX, a MKI Focus SVT, or maybe even a kit car of some sort (probably an Exocet). I still plan on taking the ST to the track a few times this summer, though I will probably take it easier now that I plan on selling it rather than keeping it forever.

Anyway, that's me. I look forward to talking about the Focus RS with you guys until I can't stand now owning one!

Mark

welcome! Sounds like you know your way around cars a weeee bit. Moving from Hawaii to Chicago is a crazy change, I don't think I could bring myself to leave paradise, thought cost of living has got to be way better in Chicago.

Welcome aboard!

I have owned a few Subies myself and loved them all, but I think/hope the RS will put them all in their place quite easily.

As for getting your Masters, get it done right away! I am getting my MBA right now, 13 years after undergrad and it is not easy anymore. Working full-time and taking 2 MBA classes a semester is not a schedule I would wish upon anyone, unless, you know, you hate free time.
