Hey all,

Nice to meet you all. I'm not actually a Focus RS owner yet, but my project SCCA Rallycross Subaru STi purchase turned out to be absolute s*** and I've decided to get rid of it once I'm done sorting it to running. I'm about 80% sure at the moment I'll be grabbing a Focus RS to have fun with instead as a capable car in a number of scenarios for me. Looking forward to officially joining the tribe soon. :)

Also, I'd want a drift stick for the vehicle but I am aware they're no longer made. Just putting it out there that if anyone has an uninstalled/unmarried one for sale, I'll take it for $2k. No sense beating around the bush on that front and I know I'd like one. I am aware of the aftermarket option but would like to stay close to factory for everything as of the moment.

Anyways, here's to a Focus RS future in the next month or so. :)

Welcome! Just a heads-up tho, don't expect to rallycross the RS unless you are prepared to do some more modifications. If you do decide to go that route, there's a couple of good threads documenting what's needed.

Wow I had no clue they were going for so much now. Had a chance to grab one for $700 2 years ago.
No idea if they are, I just saw people offering 600, saw the prices online were 1300 before they went NLA, and decided I put the number I’d pay to cut any nonsense on my end, haha.

thanks for the info bigfatflip, I’ll definitely peruse it! I figured baseline SCCA rallycross would be fine since even stock civics do it, but io guess here I am with a stock Subaru that won’t even run right. But then again that’s Subaru in general….

yeah I saw the alternative hemi but I saw tune required and was worried as a non factory tune being inCalifornia. They check the tunes now and I don’t want to fail because of a aftermarket drift sfo k haha:

Welcome and good RS shopping!!

I believe the Ford Performance drift stick also requires a reflash of the ABS module. If you buy it used I think it was determined it would work if you flashed the module using the same method as you would with the Nutron drift device (using VMware and the software/code I forgot the name of).

In any case a drift stick will need a tune, but of the ABS module, not something they are likely to look for or even detect given it has nothing to do with emissions and the engine management (with they dont go that for for you)!

They are out there though (the FP ones). I founf two of them for 500$cad or less recently on marketplace but they were too far for me to bother buying them and offering to forum members that are actively looking.

I have the alternative Nutron bundle, I confirm it is a nice piece and very fun to use, but get the aluminum version if you go this way, the carbon fit and finish is nowhere near the aluminum version finish (fit has yet to be confirmed I need to swap to the Al handle when it gets warmer).

Here is one…the other one seems to have been sold (cant find the add anymore)…if someone is willing to contact him on FB and gamble on remote payment/shipping I can share the add/guys’s name just PM me!

It’s about two hours away from me somewhere I never pass by!! Otherwise I would likely have bought it already and posted here! I’m happy with the Nutron one and not looking for another one myself!!

« brake a bras hydro-électrique » = hydraulic handbrake…500$cad

There is no un-marry process that I'm aware of for the DS. The DS as far as I know works as an OBD2 interface for the computer so you can flash the ABS module with DS enabled firmware or restore stock firmware, not lock the DS to the car's VIN. I've not heard of Ford Performance reissuing the code to download the original software for used modules, that download is locked to the VIN of the car. As mentioned, the Nutron flash appears to be similar enough to the official FP flash of the ABS unit that the DS works with it based on reports from users that have done this. I still think Nutron reserve engineered the official DS software package and striped it down to just the ABS firmware flash without the VIN restrictions, but that is clearly a topic they will not discuss.

If you get this drift stick (DS), be ready for comments all the time on it.

The driftstick is wholly unnecessary. I do massive powerslides, on dry or snow, with the cheap little mod discussed above. You only have to pull the handbrake like 1 deg for the sensor to activate, not even close to the clicking point of the handbrake.

Since collector value has been a recent topic in some RS areas, image if this becomes a collector car in a couple decades and a survivor with the drift stick becomes the hot version to collect. That Drift devICE will not compare to the original drift stick for collector value.
