So my engine blew up and to warranty it they need to see that the heat tabs are not melted meaning I overheated the engine.

Even my friend who's a mechanic is not sure.

The dealership wants $500 just to locate them and take pictures.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

I have never heard of one on an EcoBoost engine.

Highly recommend finding a different dealer. Sounds like they're already trying to get out of it.

Come to think of it, if the heat tabs were a thing from the factory, then we would have heard of dealers checking this crap when all the head-gaskets blew up. But never heard a lick, so I don't think we have them at all.

Heat tabs would only be on a replacement engine, not a factory one. Tell them you'll pay the $500 if you can be there and they show you the tabs when they find them

Not sure why it would matter if it was a warranty issues. Even if you overheated it.
not your problem. Normal cars don’t overheat ever unless something is wrong with it. If so then that was a warranty issue and everything related to it needs to be fixed. F paying $500.
Find another dealer and make sure to tell them why.
