My name is Keith and I hail from South Jersey. I've always been a fan of the Ford Turbo 4. I have owned many (85&86 Mustang SVO, 85&88 Merkur XR4tis 5-speed and an 88 Turbocoupe). When I caught wind of not only a turbo 4 coming to our shores but an awd turbo, I had to pinch myself. Couldn't believe it but its true. Always wanted an Escort RS but you can't always get what you want. I wanted to convert one of my Merkurs to a Cosworth but didn't possess the necessary skill or money.

I waited for Ford to bring back a turbo 4 until 2008. I couldn't wait any longer. Instead, I bought a 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4. It's a fun car for the most part but its cheaply made. I have to deal with craftmanship issues on a daily basis. What I will say is that when Ford builds a specialty car, they don't skimp on materials. My only concern is availability of parts. Merkur parts were expensive. SVO parts were difficult to find.

I have been lurking for a couple days and thought its time to join. There's a lot of good information here. Thanks to the many for their informative posts on the RS thus far. I can't wait!

Welcome. I think the parts concern wont be an issue but I am no expert. With the engine being close to the same in the mustang it really shouldnt be an issue.

Greetings Keith. Spent a few hours on the Garden State the other day. I hope you don't intend to go bombing down the slow lane in your RS the way some of your fellow Jersey drivers do!

Welcome to the forum Keith! To bad Dodge doesn't bring back something similar to the Caliber SRT these days. I have a 2014 RAM 2500 and the improvements they have done on the fit and finish over the past few years is awesome.
