Just like the ST, drill it out. I just hope you don't have 2 noticeable holes in the grill.

the hard part will be making sure the dealership doesn't drill into the stock holes to put in their license plate holder.

Just make sure to make it clear to the salesman when ordering the car that you don't wish to have a front plate mount and that he puts it in writing. If it comes down to it, the dealership would be responsible for either a new bumper, repaint or repair if it is in writing.

Also, make sure every time you speak with someone from the dealership that you remind them.

We used to meet the truck at our drop off location and put a note in the windshield telling service to not drill into the bumper if a customer requested.

I remember reading somewhere that dealerships are required to install the front license plate bracket on new cars in states requiring a front plate be displayed. When I went to buy my FoST, I noticed that the front license plate bracket was in a package in the hatch area and had not been installed. Knowing that the new car "prep" guys will occasionally take it upon themselves to install the front plate bracket during final prep, I grabbed the package and held on to it for the duration I was there doing the deal.

I like the look of the grille without the front plate installed and drove it that way for a while, but ended up going back to have them install it.

The guys in service actually came to me to ask me if I wanted the license plate bracket installed. My state requires front plates, but I told them not to install it. 14 months later I paid $40 to the small suburb I was driving through for no display of front plate. I decided that I didn't want to get stopped again and installed the plate.

I like how @koopiskeva (hope I'm doing this right) mounted the plate on his ST. The photo can be seen on Page 5 of "Post some pics of your current rides!".

On ST's and Mustangs, we would automatically put a note into Google Docs to have them not install the plate bracket unless the customer requested it. But some times that would be over looked, so we put the notes in the windows to be safe.

Not sure where I'm going to put it. Hopefully the aftermarket community comes up with something that doesnt look too tacky. The STs had a decent relocation kit.

I live in a front license plate state and since this issue came up I have been watching the fronts of other cars and can't believe the number of cars that do not have a front plate. So how big a fine is it? Don't see where a plate would go without looking really bad or messing up airflow/ cooling. Already told dealer do not want plate, he said he would give me the brackets as required by law.
So are you putting plates on or take the risk of ticket?

Got ticketed for no front plate here in NY. With court fees it was $190 bucks. Not the way I'd like to blow 200 bucks.

Around my home town, it's never a problem but I was traveling to the NY Auto show and a NY State Trooper pulled me over in some little town.

I'm going with a tow hook mount this time around just need to find one with an offset that works for the RS.
