I put on a blow off valve and I’m not sure if this is normal or not but when I’m cruising on the highway at a constant speed (especially when in cruise control) the bov starts to constantly release air at around -2 to -3 boost pressure. It’s super annoying and I would like to fix it if possible. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the BOV manufacturer. You might just need to twist the BOV to adjust pressure.

You might need to replace the spring (depends on the manufacturer.

Which BOV is it? And are you running off the oem line or you running a tap?

I forget the name. I have a box and remember it if I heard it but yeah. I know it’s a 50/50 bov and I know I can tighten it. I did once but maybe just didn’t do it enough. If I tighten it completely will this be bad? Or is it made to do this? Thanks!

It’s stock. Can’t remember the name of the bov.
This is covered extensively and is normal. The car makes more boost than needed so it spools quicker. You can install a boost reference adapter to stop this, but know that nothing is wrong. It does it with the stock bypass valve, u just can't hear it

This is actually perfect because I have a bra but just have yet to install it. Happy to hear this will solve my issue!

This is an excellent thread for someone considering getting a louder BOV. I'll stick with stock if it's constantly dumping.

Thanks!

It will solve the issue of you hearing noise, but the cost is slower spool times.... You hear the venting because the turbo is fully spooled and creating more boost than required, so instead of opening the WG to reduce boost by slowing the turbo down, it opens the BPV/BOV to reduce boost while keeping the turbo spooled. It's not worth reducing performance to get the annoying PSSSSSSSHHHHH sound on shifts, unless you like turbo lag like a subaru.....

I’d definitely go with it and install a bra. I put one on today and it worked wonders. Also a little plus on the side is you get the beautiful turbo flutter sound. This was a pleasant surprise during the initial drive today. And it only flutters when releasing the throttle, not under acceleration. I know some people get scared of turbo flutter but don’t understand it’s fine as long as it’s not fluttering while you’re accelerating.

I did definitely notice this as an issue but after installing a bra this seems to have eliminated this, or at least made it much less noticeable than before!
