Hi everyone,

I have noticed that my driver's side mirror flutters/shakes a bit while I am driving on the highway. It is shaky enough that identifying highway patrol vehicles through that mirror is difficult! I don't believe the passenger's side mirror flutters/shakes.

Do you all have mirror shake too?

I had this same problem on my 2005 Mazda3, and I had the dealer replace the side mirror 2 times before giving up and concluding that the manufacturing standards are lower than my personal standards. If everyone else also has this mirror shake, I won't even bother asking for a new mirror.

Thanks!

It definitely should not shake...

I had this happen in my Fiesta ST. Ford replaced it and everything was peachy afterwards.

I noticed this exact thing when driving her home for the first time. As soon as I got out, I gave the mirror a shake and a wiggle to see if it was loose. It was as tight as the other side.

Driving it since that first trip home, I haven't really noticed it.

It sounds like this is relatively common for the RS then. :( I might not bother about asking Ford for a new mirror then, especially since I have already installed clear bra PPF on the mirror.

If you have an RS with a perfectly stable driver's side mirror, please let me know because you might encourage me to ask for a fix!

Mine shakes on bumpy roads. To be clear, I drive the same bumpy roads in other vehicles and have only noticed the shaking in the Focus.

Hope that helps...

Ditto this exactly for my driver side mirror.

I thought I was crazy when I noticed this on the drive home today. Passenger mirror is steady as a rock, driver's vibrates at highway speeds. Hopefully it's something I can get used to seeing.

I haven't noticed any excess vibration in the mirrors, and I made a point to check after reading this.

Is is the entire mirror or just the glass? If the glass, check to make sure it's snapped in fully to the frame behind it and that the frame isn't broken.

If the entire mirror...make sure the bolts are tight to the door.
