Do you have a pariicle device?

@TomekRST from Nutron team have announced switching from Carloop to ESP32 and release of RSapp v2.5. One of the new features is ABS and RDU flashing using just mobile app.
To clarify, RSapp v2.5 will be the new firmware (that includes RS dash!) available on new ESP32 hardware, as well as pre-existing carloop users.

But it won’t support mobile app flashing, that will be v3.0 that will be released down the road. No specific timeline given either unfortunately.

Hi!

Special version of the Daft Racing virtual machine supporting the ESP32-C3 microcontroller, which has become part of the updated Nutron HandBrake Mod1 bundle. The post also includes a attached manual and a picture that will help you identify that the kit contains the ESP32-C3, not Carloop. Note: this virtual machine is not compatible with Carloop.

He said smart stuff, no worries. If you didn't understand, then it doesn't matter to you.

Now it makes sense I only had “….” No information and no image just four dots lol he’s also posted on their Facebook page too

I just installed the new device with esp32 flashed abs & rdu everything went good. Only issue now is I have a Kaiser Engineering digital dash that works good when turn the car on but then when try to turn on my Cobb AP the Cobb device can’t pick up my ecu it just stays in that initial load up screen and then the Kaiser digital dash freezes up and stops working also. Keep in mind before installing esp32 device never had these issues before. The Cobb device and Kaiser digital dash worked perfectly together. (picture of the dash for refrence)

It is a known issue of the dash and ap not working well together, sure kaiser advise of this

im not sure how true that is. It wasn’t a issue for me until today when installed the esp32 device
The problem is you now have 3 devices probing the CANBUS system at once. I don't know if the CANBUS system is fast enough to handle all 3 devices at once.

You could possibly turn down the request rate (not sure what Kaiser calls it, or if it's possible). I don't think the Cobb has the ability to tweak that setting. Maybe try having them probe different settings?

It ended up being my dsc sport controller in the back paired with the esp32 wouldn’t let my Cobb connect. The esp32 also did something to my tpms. Tpms light went off I filled tires with air the light wouldn’t go away until I unplugged the esp32 then my tpms started working fine again. That being said will be posting my esp32 for sale soon cause it didn’t work for me

Hi All, my RS still trying to kill me with torque veering and it really takes fun away. Can't trust it on uneven cambered straights or sometimes on weaving dirt roads. I had it do it at 200km/hr on a tarmac uneven straight on a closed backcountry road. It moved sideways about half a meter steering all by itself. Can't trust it, on edge. Ok on race track. Totally unlike torque steer. Like dancing with an axe murderer.

Anyway, I've been watching the RDU tuning stuff for a long time. What I want is to disable the vectoring and have constant torque so it behaves as much like a LSD as possible. I don't care much about changing the torque ratios. At least if it can be set like a standard LSD and not vector then I'll know if this is the root cause of the problem.

Can it be done? What do you recommend? Looking forward to your comments re RDU config to stop torque veering. Desperately hope anyone has a solution or advice. I have the old daftracing handbrake etc but will buy the new stuff from Nutron snd hopefuly get @TomekRST to help set it up.

I'm also working on a custom suspension to get about 6.5" travel with more compliance. One of the thoughts is if I can keep the wheels more in contact with the ground maybe it will be less nuts. I'll put this up in the lifting the RS thread once I am more progressed.
Cheers
James

Yes, you can disable torque vectoring. Both T11 (25%) and X1 (50%) will also disable your torque vectoring when flashed

Thats fantastic. With torque vectoring disabled what does it do? Can it be used on the road, track days etc. Not just for LC.

Edit: I just found this map editor for the RDU. RDU Map Editor. I assume that the parameters shown here are the only ones it senses??

Any LSD does a sort of torque vectoring I guess - just more mild. I'm sorry I've not had time to look into it, but if it is possible to define clutch pressure setting based on the parameters then it would be great to adjust that. If it is reading steering wheel angle and differential slip across rear wheels (not sure if it does this). I would like to make it significantly less sensitive to steering angle and limit the torque transfer to the outside wheel progressively. Don't think I was clear but would like it to behave as much as possible like a wavetrac (which I have in the front) or quaife. Also using the handbrake in autoX so hope it still disconnects the clutch for handbrake turns.

Anyhow, I want it to behave like a normal LSD in the rear and not go nuts. Is that possible or do I need to remap myself (not sure I can).

Just don't want it to keep trying to kill me ;-)
