Quick question for you RS owners with catch cans. What is your contents of your catch cans looking like and smelling like. Just got a surprise today, bought the car a month ago, first oil change, here's what was inside my catch can. Is this normal? I do live in Wisconsin so it's been cold.

that right pic looks a little milky to me. which makes me think coolant.
have you done an oil change lately? inspected the oil yourself?
my catch can fluid is jet black.
I also just changed the oil today, first time for me as the 2nd owner of the vehicle. Everything looked good, no metal, no coolant

Mine looks similar to the oil in the engine.
I also avoid keeping the car outside during winter time to prevent excess condensation in the system.
Monitor the content again after 1000 miles and see the colour.

My dual radium setup extracts jet black oil, but I live in a warmer (like hot!) climate. Leaving oil in the catch can in colder or wet climates for extended periods I’ve heard can make it go funky - although that milky pic is a bit suspicious. I empty mine often as for me it’s an inspection point to ensure the cans are working fine and it’s more effective when kept to a minimum.

Your post reminded me to run out and check my catch can. Fitted it about 18 months ago and it has about ¼ inch of liquid in it. Can only describe it as looking like fresh oil! Light brown and viscous...

(on a side note - Radium needs to change the color of the catch can dip stick from anodized light brown (ie oil colored..) to un-anodized so you can see the oil height..)

Yours is brown? My Radium cans have an anodized green dipstick in both. I know they redesigned them, but why change the color to brown? So weird...

That is not the dipstick :).
The dipstick is the tiny nipple next to it.
You need a 10mm deep socket to loosen and remove.

PS: loosening the fancy green top as you call it will completely wreck the paint and text.
I was so ginger when I opened the damn thing as the dipstick never had any liquid.
I thought it was broken.

Yep, that's what @Si2RS was showing.
12 hour work day!

Track day incoming on the 20th!!! Gotta check my dipstix!
I have a tow truck on standby. I might end up with a leaky engine again hahah.

I think we're getting a little off track, I mean the contents coming out of my catch can, not the dipstick or the can itself
I think it's normal to have it look what you have since it's blow-by.

I would not worry about it so much if you are not loosing coolant, no contaminants on the coolant reservoir and not excessive contents in your catch cans. 👍

My question is do I have to take the air box off to empty the radium PcV cc. My hand doesn’t fit

Wouldn’t mind seeing what E85 blowby will look like.
