I did not buy the $350 Ford car cover thinking I could shop around. Does anyone have suggestion or experience with one on their ST?

These might fit the ST rear hatch ok but doesn't have enough material stitched in for the height of rear spoiler, which will make the bottom hike up instead of around the bottom of bumper

Car Covers as a whole are a catch 22. Yes, they'll protect your vehicle from dust and more extensive covers will take that a step further and prevent bird poo and other environmental contaminants from contacting your vehicle, but that's about it. Waterproof car covers are great for very light rain, but anything more and the water will be absorbed. This is because car covers are porous, to allow air flow in and out. Finally, every time you put the cover on, you have to make sure your vehicle is spotless, because any dirt or debris will most certainly marr and scratch the paint.

I usually put my cover on after car wash and switching daily drivers

Good points. Thanks. I would use it only when putting car away for winter while in garage. Too many things in garage that can cause damage - kids toys bikes etc...
