I just received my May issue of Car and Driver and out of the top 25 cars most worth waiting for, the Focus RS came in at number 12. The GT was number 1 :)

I've been hearing the new CTR would be released next summer in Europe, but on this list it is shown as a 2018, is that the estimated year model for the US? Seams like a long wait, and I was thinking 1 year on the RS seamed too long.

From what I got out of the Type-R, was that it won't be this side of the pond until the next Gen Civic is out.

FWD Type R in #4 spot, seems legit.
That car is gonna be badass. It's based on the Euro-Spec Civic platform, which is better than the U.S. spec. And it's finally got a turbo VTEC motor. IIRC, is also currently the fastest FWD production car around the Nurburgring.

Also, yes: the 2016 and 2017 Civic Type R will not be available in the states, which I why I'm buying the RS instead.

If the Trackhawk gets the Hellcat motor, that think is going to be ridiculous.

Not sure how a fwd car is ahead of the RS, but wtfe. So 40k and under the RS is 3rd and that's fine. It's all opinion anyway. Honestly there isn't a car in the top 10 that ide rather have right now. Sure if I was rich a GT would be in my garage, but right now the RS would work great for my needs much like my STi. When I have no kids and live somewhere with better roads then ide say screw the hatch crap I'm taking the GT to get coffee.
