Hi, I have a dual plate clutch on my RS and it failed in a most peculiar way. When you press the pedal to the floor it connects the engine to the drivetrain, when you take your foot off the clutch pedal it actually disconnects the engine from the drive. In other words it is completely reversed to normal operation. Strangely managed to drive it into the garage by selecting gear with the foot off the clutch and then press the clutch in to move it forward and provide drive to the gearbox. Does anyone have any idea at all what might be going on. Going to pull it to pieces very shortly and I will report back but I'm hoping someone's got some idea of what this behaviour is and how can be fixed.

I've never seen this behaviour from a clutch ever, and it's a complete head scratcher

Interesting...only time I've seen something like this was due to installing the wrong spec slave cylinder.

Would be very interested in what you find!

It's not a new install, probably 2 1/2 years old but very little use on it because of covid it has one or two high-performance driving days honest and the odd Skid Pan.
Noted, our team of high-performing research koalas will immediately get on to this investigation to see if this is the case🤪

Hows the clutch/brake fluid level?

Not checked. Still waiting at garage. Felt like it still had fluid and pressure, I guess it was doing something if it did the reverse behaviour. I'll let you know when I learn more.

Clutch is https://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/en/catalogue KFD23659-2A. Search for ford rs 2017 in catalogue. I'll ring them tomorrow. Clutch is 1 month out of 2 year warranty🤨 Minimal use because of covid then I've been laid up with double knee replacement.

if the clutch is toast, i would still reach out. Many companies work off of recommendations and will be willing to help
