For those not familiar with the Goodwood Festival of Speed event:

Hillclimb

1.16-mile course

The Hillclimb is the Festival of Speed’s principal attraction. Taking place throughout the weekend, this challenging white-knuckled 1.16-mile course starts as a tree-lined run through the southern corner of the Goodwood Estate which then turns to sweep past the front of Goodwood House before climbing a steep and narrow Estate road bordered by flint walls and dense woodland groves towards Goodwood’s equine racecourse on top of the magnificent South Downs.

PERFORMANCE, POWER & PACE

The course rises over 300ft from the start line to the finish, and is very technical and challenging, putting the skills of the world’s very best drivers and riders to the ultimate test of concentration and speed.

Each day, no fewer than 300 cars and motorcycles sprint their way up the iconic Hillclimb in a truly inspiring display of performance, power and pace. The vehicles are grouped thematically into classes of comparable machinery, with the oldest running first.

41.6 SECONDS TO THE TOP

The fastest time up the hill, set by Nick Heidfeld in the McLaren MP4-13 in 1999, still stands to this day. To see Nick’s 41.6 second hillclimb please click the link below.

Yeah, I have not looked but I wonder if there is a F1 car planned for this year. It has been a while. There are some big egos floating around lately... Goodwood might be too big of a challenge.

Such a great and unique event..i guess the US equivalent is Pebble Beach except no sanctioned racing event. lol

Kind of disappointed ford did not release more details about the RS....in terms of dates, trims, or even a mini build on their website.

Although I share your curiosity, I'm not sure the time is relevant. I bet Ford's objective was for Block to showcase the AWD system's penchant for drifting and playfulness rather than gunning for the fastest time he could achieve.

Did they release Block's official time on this run?
It was nowhere near the McLaren MP4-13 time of 41.6 seconds in 1999, which still stands to this day.

You can get a shot of the RS200 on the run starting at 1:09, the Hoonicorn climb and burnout at 3:00, at 4:50 RS200 IMSA GTO climb, at 10:07 the Colin McRae climb in the 99 Focus Rallye car.

After watching this video and timing things out i'd say the RS completed the climb just before the minute mark which would put it around #19 on this list:

Some things to consider with that time:
- As others had mentioned above, I don't think Mr. Block was going for all out speed/best time.
- This was on a Mule/Prototype car.
- He had a passenger.

Impressive, given the Noble M600 held the record for 6 years until the GTR Nismo clipped the time this year and now the Mono (unofficially).

How many people are driving up the hill as fast as they can tho? Some stop to show off for the crowd.

You forgot about those that did donuts and then crashed.

Seriously, I believe that the majority of drivers are there just to complete the run and many spectators are there to observe the older machines on the track.

My favorite car available/used for under $85k in there -- 10. Jaguar F-Type R Coupe 0:55.10 122 '14 550 / 1665 Anthony Reid

The way Jags depreciate I see one in my driveway for $60k within two years. New 2016 AWD version will push the 2014-2015 R models even lower. The 6cyl turbo S model is also very nice and sounds great for a six.

Well I guess okay, if you are the Jaguar type.
