Lightning lap results are impressive. Faster than the RS, BMW M2 comp and the 3.0 Supra.

Focus RS 3:03.9
BMW M2 2:59.7
Supra 2:59.3
CLA45 AMG 2:58.2

Wonder how many seconds the dual-clutch takes off on that course. I’ll take the RS and it’s manual, even if it is a few seconds slower, just to be more engaged.

Wow, mercedes apparently offers 60 treadwear trofeo Rs as an option on a sedan. why not right?
That’s how they shave the tenths off their lap times and get suckers like me drooling over the car, even though I wouldn’t want them (I could have done without the Cup 2’s on the RS, terrible for DD).

RS is slower.

It's also $40,000 less expensive, has a hatch back and a manual transmission.

I'm not upset about it. LoL
Well, if you can control yourself on the options they start at $55k. My RS was $42k MSRP, so only a $13k difference. I think the only performance options on the AMG are Dynamic Plus (brakes/suspension) which is $4k and the tires (which nobody would option and is not even available for online configuration).

$64,000 with performance options and navigation.

You may not sweat an extra $20,000, but in reality that's a big difference.

It's like the review I saw comparing the GT350 and Focus RS. The guy said something along the lines of "we'd rather have the GT350, and for only 20 grand more it's definitely worth it."

Dude, that's a 50% increase in price. When I bought mine I wasn't making the frugal choice after shopping with an $80,000 budget. LoL

Well it took 2 years but I finally got one. Only drove it home so far (3.5 hour drive), but I love it. Have to keep it under 4,500 rpm and 85 mph for the first 1,000 miles, but I drove a used one before I bought new and it was a rocket ship. The ride quality is better than I hoped.
I had to trade in the RS to be able to afford it and will miss the car. It’s been my favorite car so far, did just about everything well except ride quality and fuel economy. I hope the next owner gets as much enjoyment from it as I did.

Very cool, where did you go to get this? I don’t think I ever seen one of those before.
I went all the way to Ann Arbor to get the spec/deal I wanted. I’m pretty picky about the seats, wanted the recaros and also wanted to buy new. If you’re interested in checking one out I think Naperville Chevy dealer has a blue one and Ultimo Motors in Westmont has two white ones. They are awesome cars

It does look bad ass and will move and feel great but it’s a DCT. Cheers!
Yes this is my first automatic transmission since my very first car which was 18 years ago. Luckily I have a 6 speed (manual) Miata which can scratch the itch whenever I get it.
