This is not true. You do not need to take off the left front wheel and remove an access panel. There is a small rubber flap in the wheel arch that's held in place with 9 fasteners. Use a screw driver to remove only three of the fasteners. Peel back flap. Remove oil filter.

Atrocious filter placement, guaranteed to get oil everywhere unless that little plastic tray has been designed to catch filter runoff.

Looks like Ford beefed up the connecting rods for the Ranger. RS rod on the right. 672D0914-ABC1-4F59-BE62-99D17341BDF8_1562545171084.jpg
