  1. 520whp focus RS build

    Focus RS Performance
You realize the Mazda3 MPS (or mazdaspeed3 for us USA folks) was a closed deck 2.3 disi block that the Ford duratec became based off of, not the RS 2.3 open deck block? The blocks you mention are vastly different. Closed deck is going to hold power better, period. There are other ways to cool...
  2. 520whp focus RS build

    Focus RS Performance
The issue with the 2.3 open deck block and a deck brace is that the weak point of the block is still there; the shallow casting point between cylinders 2 and 3. The block gets a hairline crack and there's nothing you can do about it.
  3. 520whp focus RS build

    Focus RS Performance
There a They are some things you can address like using 2.0 closed deck block, sleeved block, 1/2" headstuds, I-beam connecting rods, heavy duty wrist pins, valvetrain spring and retainer upgrades, larger valves, etc. Other things you cannot due to there being nothing on the market: inner cup...
  4. 520whp focus RS build

He tracked his all the time, then changed cars. I know of guys that built 500+whp RS's and sold, and those that have held on to them (I'm a holder, and built). I think a lot of people selling realize that dropping an extra 15-25k to have a 500whp car, that comes with the maintenance costs of...
  5. WMI on the stock tune?

    Focus RS Performance
You get what you pay for in most instances. Except with mountune lolol.
  6. Current tuners for the RS

    Focus RS Performance
I love the performance and quality of relationship I get with Ryan Martin at PD-Tuning. I also have experience and good things to say about Adam at Tune+. Justin at Freektune is beast. Tuned by Nishan is a beast. That's about who I would recommend. Other notables are Panda and CPe that also do...
  7. Flat-Foot shifting

    Focus RS Performance
There is no factory flat foot shifting on the RS. Only available when you get tuned. You can find articles where "Ford said to flat foot shift" on the launch, but I have never seen it actually hold rpm's like true flat foot shifting is supposed to. It hits redline, and you just bang it into...
  8. WMI on the stock tune?

    Focus RS Performance
I agree. It has a lot of easy to attain benefits. Most people shy away IMO because of unfamiliarity, fear of a pump failure or something going wrong (even though you risk the same thing with port injection e85 setups), and the fact that methanol is pretty nasty stuff to handle compared to ethanol.
  9. WMI on the stock tune?

    Focus RS Performance
You can run meth without tuning for it no problem. You'll get the benefits you listed. Stock tune should respond by giving you full OEM spark advance for timing and hit it's load targets consistently. Just make sure you inject the appropriate amount (with nozzle sizing) to not inject too much as...
  10. Need Help! Enkei nt03 + Eibach lowering springs

    Focus RS Discussions
Are you saying you already did an alignment on the lowering springs, and want to know if you should redo it again with the new wheels? I would say it is NOT necessary, but it's always good practice to do one whenever you change something that affects how your car steers and contacts the road.

Willing to sell/ship just the tires? I just bought a set of 4 in this size, but having another set as a backup would be nice.

100% meth. Behind the taillight assembly to the wheel well.
  14. GT500 Confirmed by Ford Performance for 2020

That picture is photoshopped, so how he already has this listed when the car is unreleased is shady enough, and as always...no one should ever give John Hennessey a cent or their car.
  15. Water Methanol or Nitrous Injection

    Focus RS Performance
I have a 10L methanol tank mounted in the trunk, and ran to the engine compartment. I think the USDM washer tank is like 1.1 gallons or something like that. I wanted to keep use of my washer fluid, so I went with a baffled trunk tank.
