Depends if they were answering "Will the options coming with the limited edition RS be made available via the ford performance store (carbon fiber interior trim, etc.)?" or "Will tunes from Mountune be warranty friendly. (M380 tuning package,etc.?)".

Given the other content of that session, my bet is that they were answering the first and not making any new announcements such as that.

I think we need @[email protected] to email his new friends and ask for clarification before everyone runs out and buys a M380 package and voids their warranties based on a misunderstanding.

As has been said. ultiple times, until the check is next to the sheot on the FP site, it is not warranty approved. So we're waiting in a simple check mark.

Don't worry, scrote. There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now.

Right, and they accepted and answered other questions relating to the 2018 equipment multiple times as well. If that was in fact them confirming Mountune warranty approval it would have been completely outside of the tone and content of the rest of the session. I understand you/we want it to be true, but looking at it objectively I think you're jumping to the wrong conclusion. Time will tell, of course.

Do you realize all questions were heavily scrubbed? Most of our questions didn't even make it through. The M380 question did make it through, and they answered yes. If the answer was no, then the M380 question wouldn't even have made it into the chat. Think.

Sorry. I submitted like 20 questions I'd gathered from the community at the beginning. All the hard ones got skipped. I also asked cake or pie, but they skipped that too.

How did no one ask if the 2018 will have a carbon fiber gas pedal spacer or any spacer at all?

And why this wasn't caught in testing when the guy who has one leg that is 4" longer than the other allowed a coworker to test drive the pedal spacing setup he designed?

We talked about this in person at the event. There will be warrantied tunes for the RS under mountune and/or Ford Performance, but there aren't any yet. There are various engineers within Ford that have to approve and sign off on the changes, etc. It's a long process. Until they have the checkmark then assume no warranty, but the checkmark is coming...

With that being said, NO calibration other than those released by FORD, not FORD PERFORMANCE or MOUNTUNE are covered under the FACTORY warranty. The ones that do have a warranty are covered under the Ford Performance warranty which REPLACES your factory warranty.

The current policy is here. Until it's updated to include the RS and specific packages, there isn't one. I can't say if it'll apply to the packages retroactively when it does go into place.

500 Limited 2018s in Canada. That's around the same number as was sold in Canada for 2016 and 2017 too. I think it was around 600 something for each year?

Yes, but his USERNAME contained the question as well. I agree with JWA that they read his username which was "Will the options coming with the limited edition RS be made available via the ford performance store (carbon fiber interior trim, etc.)?" and simply answered yes without realizing that wasn't even the question being asked (yet, that same user posted again with the question itself).

Regardless, their statements on a live chat don't determine anything binding. Until you have a warranty document from them I'd still go with No as the answer.
