After having my mexican built engine break a valve and destroy engine at 600 miles fue to unknown reason I have been checking who sells longblock to dropin and so far I see (updated list)

    1. fullblownmotorsports
    2. panda motorworks
    3. mountune
    4. livernoise
    5. MAPerformance
    6. Esslingeracing

is their any other? and any feedback on them?

Update june 1st: proving harder than I thought to get a price quote for a longblock. Only site that has them listed is mountune. 15 k for a motor. need to decide if I really need to have a modded rs or.part her out and get a used Audi rs, BMW m2 m4, Camaro ss, mustang gt, Corvette, Mercedes amg. I dont know, still feel that 500whp in an rs will be more fun that the mentioned cars lol.

I dont mean to sound like a **** if it comes off that way, and I'm aware that every small business started from scratch involves one person with a dream. But not even 5 years ago Panda was a rinkydink operation that bought cheap intercooler cores and welded on beadless piping and (incorrectly placed) mounting brackets, and employed a tuner who left at some point because he wasnt being paid on a normal pay schedule like a real business.

Fast forward 5 years and I honestly dont know how people could pay someone thousands for a built long block and choose them over an internationally reputed company that FORD works with to R&D warrantied upgrades. Mountune is a real actual machine shop. For all we know Panda could still be out of someones garage. Just my $.02. I know mountunes rep suffers because of part turnaround time but at least the parts are quality built when you get them.

Hankbobo I agree. Quality R&D and machining takes years to develop. Mountune is who I'd go with. If I had 20K to blow on mods... the divorce papers would soon follow however. 😬
